Engine Knock...


only happens when it's really cold outside today, it will go away once the car warms up...what does it sound like..

btw i have some grinding nois happens sometime.

What weight is your oil, and what temperature is "really cold"? It's possible that your oil is too thick for your climate, so the lifters become sticky and make noise.

...I don't think so, although it may be different for your car. Failed OSVs don't usually make more than a loud sucking noise, at least on the M62.

A whistle is definitely more characteristic of a failed OSV compared to a knocking.
