Let me take a picture of you and your car! (Greater Boston area)

Cliff's Notes: I want to take a picture with you and your car; this is a photo project for college. Contact me through any of the means listed in the last paragraph if you are interested.

I'm doing a photography project for college in which I'm trying to document the enthusiast and/or modding scene. As part of this project, I'm looking for people who are willing to have me take a picture of them and their car (it can be a BMW or some other type of car, it doesn't matter). I would go to your house or apartment, or to wherever you like to work on your car, and take the picture there.

Afterwards, you would get a copy of the picture, electronically and/or a high-quality print on 11x14" paper. I would also be willing to snap a few other pictures of your car and give them to you electronically if you would like. After I have collected a number of these photos, they would be put together into a book. There would also be an exhibition in late April or early May next year that you would be invited to attend.

I am an enthusiast myself; I own a 1992 Infiniti G20 that has a number of mods. Here is a link to my photo portfolio, so you can get an idea of some of the work I've done before:

If you are interested, please email me through the forum, reply to this thread, or call me at 410-456-3253 (if you call and I don't answer, please leave a message). Email is the best way to reach me, but I want to keep all lines of communication open.

I might be down to help you out, could be fun to take a few of us who all live within 2miles of each other and tag team the efforts.

That would be great. Around where in Boston are you?

Also, how do you email people on this forum? I'm used to being able to use PMs, but I guess the admins disabled them.

Very cool idea. I work at a hospital in the city and keep my car stored in a garage in the south end that would make for a great shoot at night as it's huge and I park in a typically empty area.

If you're desperate, you can snag a photo of my car (and me). Can't say it's anything special though.

What school do you go to?

How early would you be getting there? I'd like to try to take the photos when it's still light, which of course could be challenging if you go there after you get off work at 5pm or something like that. Also, where is the garage? Friday would work great for me because I have no class, so if you're getting there early enough, it sounds like a good idea.

As I said, I'd prefer to get pics during the day if at all possible because of the lighting.

I go to Harvard -- this is actually my senior thesis, so I'm trying to get a lot of different types of cars and people (and yes, I've posted this on a few forums already).

That picture is actually in Baltimore, which is where I'm originally from. And the important thing for this project is that you're an enthusiast and you love your car, not that you've got a whole bunch of mods (although that's good too!).

Is that an underground garage? As you may have gathered already, I want to use natural light whenever I can, so if it's underground and another location is a possibility, I'd prefer the other location.

Hey guys, apologies for not replying sooner. I've taken pictures of 55fanatic, but am still interested in getting pictures of you guys. Could each of you please email me through the forum if you're still interested so that we can schedule and work out logistics?

Thanks,

David
