1991 - 1999 (E36) (1991 - 1999) The first modern 3 Series, the E36, was the model that paved the way for the 3 Series to be named "Car of the Year" every year since the model was driving off showroom floors. Radically redesigned in 1992, the E36 was not the same 3 Series as the E21 and E30. Larger, less boxy in design, and equipped with a dual overhead cam engine, multilink rear suspension, and a more finished interior, the E36 balances sport with luxury.

Air Conditioning keeps blowing fuse!

I recently had the A/C on my 98 318ti serviced, the repair shop recharged the system and it worked great for about a month and the all of a sudden the A/C stops blowing cool air. I check the fuse to find its been burned straight through. I replaced the fuse turn on the A/C and with in seconds the fuse blows again. What's the deal? Why would it run well for a month then start blowing fuses like crazy?

Sounds like your compressor's going out. Mine does the same thing. You could put a bigger fuse in and it should work, but i wouldn't advise it...apparently it was good enough for the used dealership i bought it from though..

Don't put a bigger fuse in it.

What fuse is blowing? There are several in that circuit.

You compressor clutch is shot. You are better replacing the entire thing than just pull the clutch because the compressor will not be far behind...
