Is this Fern Green or Boston Green??

Which green is this? It's a '98 so it could be either.

I say fern as well, more of a solid green. Boston almost looks bluish like the guy stated above. (Don't judge from my sig pic; cell phone quality and bad lighting ftl)

I think I'm about to love that color right into my driveway. I'm not keen on tan interiors, but I think I'll get used to it, or else I'll buy someone's black seats.

Got one in my driveway. Definitely look Fern. I wasn't sure about the tan either at first, but it has totally grown on me

My fern was over magma, but my magma driver's seat is very tired looking now. I may convert to black since I'd like lightweight sport seats and also because magma is hard to restore.

yep Fern for sure darker and also I noticed it has headrests, which means its post 9/97 production, boston green ended 3/98. 3/98 post also gives 3 spoke steering wheel.

Is that why folks specify some cars at 98.5s? What else changed at 98.5 (3/98)?

I like the color, not so fond of the name...not that it matters. I see it was only sold from 3/98-4/99 and not on sedans. I bet the number of Ferns is pretty low.

One reason is it was only available for one year of a 5 year production run of E36 M3s. Second, green in general isn't a popular color on cars.

Damn, my car has a 3/98 production date, but I had to retrofit a 3-spoke steering wheel... Maybe mine was the first week of March '98.
