Exclamation Guess What Broke

Yay for Track Cars as a DD

so i go to shift gears and i get a LOUD thud
if the clutch is in all is normal, if its in gear i get thuds and violent shaking

odd part - its normal in reverse

so i pull over and take a look, everything appread to be bolted up normal, but the pass side inner CV boot has dumped a TON of grease in the area.

so i know the CV is bad (and brand new) but im just wondering if anyone thinks there might be other problems or a good guess on the cause of the problem

going to Cola. tomorrow so i wont get it on jack stands till Friday am

THANKS

<3 I had to do it, Matt.

I applaud your 'innovative creativity' though.

looked over the CV boot and no sign of a hole so im not sure how all that grease got out but the front bolt snapped right in half along the threads (yup i get to try to back that f**ker out)

So....
if anyone is bored this weekend and wants to help put the car back together, or just sit around and laugh at me while you have a cold one, come on over

Sh!tty job if the bolt won't back out. I'd be soaking it in PB from now until you try it. Worst case, you'll have to drop the diff and drill it out (unles you have a 90* drill) and go oversized with a nut.

I really need to change mine,, just for peace of mind.

I broke one once also and I was able to get the piece out easily. You can drill or move it from either side once you get the diff on the ground, which helps.
