Lighted ///M sport shift knob Plug & Play on 95 540i/6?

I pulled the wood shift surround, with out breaking anything I might add, and the foam and only see 2 big connectors with a lot of wires and 1 very small connector with a white (IIRC) and brown wire.
I don't see one for the shift knob to plug into
Do I need to wire it up or do I have to dig around for the plug?
Thanks.

The plug should be there. I forget which color wires but there is only 2 wires that go into the plug.

white with a red stripe and brown sounds right to me. Does that connector not fit the shift knob light? Test it for power with a multimeter, if it gets power with the lights on, just cut the terminal and splice it.

Well I found the matching wires but they don't plug into the same plug on the shifter

Well I did this. Then got it all working and realized I needed to put the shift surround and boot on before hand Tomorrow's another day
