E39 540i VS 06 STi, E46 323 VS Honda prelude
I drove my buddy's 540i against his 06 STi.
540i has automatic transmission and it's all stock except K&N filter. STi has cobb stage 2 and 3" turbo-back. 1st race is 40 ~ 200 km/h. 540i actually holds Sti until it shift to 3rd gear, then Sti walk about half car length when 540i shifts. 540i lost about 4~5 car length by the end. 2nd race is 50~200 km/h. same result as above, expects I used 2nd gear when we took off so Sti ran alway. 3rd race is 0~top speed.(who ever hit speed limit), Sti jump and pull about 4 cars length at launch , and when I hit 220 km/h, Sti was about 7 cars length in front of me. My buddy's 99 Honda prelude with intake and cat-back try few runs with his girlfriend's E46 323. They are both automatic transmission. after 5 to 10 runs, E46 always won from lunch, never lost and even kick prelude's ass on top speed run. |
