help pls, abs and dsc lights coming on - dont know what to do

When I start my car, both the yellow ABS and DSC lights turn on, and wont go off.

If start/stop car while moving, they turn off... until the next time i get in my car to drive away.

sometimes if i am running errands, after a number of start and stops they go off on their own. but every morning they are there, waiting for me.

if you know what the problem might be, please help.
thanks

The first action would be to have the fault codes read to find out what problem you have.

The diag tool used must be able to interrogate the ABS module. A simple engine code tool, like a Peake code reader can't do that.

hmm. is there a recommended tool i can purchase? or is this a trip to the garage?

I guess that was the purpose of the original question... to see if other people have experienced the same symptoms to give me an idea of what the problem might before doing diagnostics. bmw is 1hr drive :P

You've got to read the codes. There are many dozens of possibilities, only your abs module knows which needs fixing.
