Regular fogs or projector fogs for M5 front bumper?

Looking to get the M5 front bumper for my E39 wagon. DDMTuning offer 2 types of fogs, regular for free and projector fogs for an additional charge.

Which one is better? Pros and Cons?

http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=76&parent=154

Their website shows 3 pictures on the right. The top is the picture of projector fogs and the bottom is a E39 with M-bumper installed with regular fogs.

Thanks.

the quality difference would depend on the projector lens, without having seen them, or seen pictures of the light output, I personaly, can't judge. However, I would assume that if it's just a cheapo unit (lens) with poor optics, save your money and just go with the reflectors as I doubt there would be much of a benefit..

I had projector fogs on my 540 with the M front bumper, and the light output was not as good as the regular fog lights. They did look good though. If you want the best light output, go for the OEM type ones, if you are going for looks, get the projectors!

I have been toiling with this same dilemma for a few weeks. My plan was to put 3kK hid in the projectors. I have not found anyone locally that has this set up, so I may do it just to see what its like. Anyone else have any thoughts?

Projector fogs are what, iirc, the E46 ZHP uses and are interchangeable with the M5 fogs. However I feel the M5 fogs are a lot better, and flow better with the bumper

I'd go with the regular fogs...for one reason only...HID retrofitting sucks with the projector type since you would have to dremel through a metal backing...

I think the regular fogs look way better (cleaner) than the projector fogs... just go with the regular and put some clear 3M over them.
