Front cover leak

I have an annoying leak that i am about to tackle. I thought the leak was the valve cover. Not.... I believe it is from the front cover and it is probably loose bolts. Anyone found the 10mm bolts loose on theirs in that area?

I know with the s50s/s52s, the front cover has to be perfectly on there for it not to leak. So my suggestion is pull it off and RTV the hell out of it.

OP, you have an m30, it's no surprise your timing cover gaskets are leaking. You also may have a leak from your oil filter canister gasket, where it meets the block. Clean everything, and replace the gaskets you need to.

Also check to see if the seal in on the distributor housing is leaking. Easy to check...pop the dizzy out and see if there's oil in the housing. Mine was causing a hell of a mess.

It is the distributor housing leaking. I removed the airbox so i could see good and after cleaning it i saw the oil running down the seam. It then runs horizontal to the head which is why i smell it sometimes. Easy enough fix....

I DID TIGHTEN THE THREE BOLTS ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE HOUSING. THEY WERE A BIT LOOSE BUT THE PERMATEX IS PROBABLY NOT HOLDING.
