E92 M3 badge vs. E36 M3 badge

I tried searching, but I'm also tired so maybe I missed it. But does anyone know what the size difference between the E36 and E92 M3 badge are. I think the E92 is just curved, where the E36 is flat, but is it significantly smaller? Maybe I'll go to a dealer tomorrow and measure it, haha.

For the time:

If your looking for an E36 Dinan badge I have one for sale. I could at least measure it for you and tell you exactly how big it's.

I want a blacked out M3 badge, but I'm having a tough time finding the E36 ones. I found some nice E92 badges for a good deal and I kinda like the curve of the new badges. And I'm curious.

Paint the M and the 3 with black paint and a brush? It'd be similar to blacking out your grills but the badge won't get rock chipped all day....

Just know that most of the aftermarket badges use cheap paint, the red turns to pink in 6 months and the blues fade as well. Since my original badge only had the faded Red, I masked it and painted it Hellrot. That was 3 years ago and it still looks perfect....

May be a stupid question but what kind of paint did you use?

could be useful if OP wants to go this route.

My Car came with a Spray Can of Touch up paint, it's been quite useful over the years. (got the car in '05) No idea what brand is actually in it, but it's got to be quality automotive paint. My car sits in Sun all day here at work next to an airport, badge looks great still.

I just got it back last night (got rear ended 3 weeks ago) so I'll soon do a thread on the body/paint work. You'll be able to see it then. (I went to shop every couple days to snap pics of the progress)
