I wouldn't consider a hose to the intensive washer reservoir "critical". Heck, it's an optional feature with it's own plumbing and reservoir....which DOES not prevent you from still cleaning your windshield (or headlights if you have washer jets for them, too).

The regular windshield washer system has it's own separate reservoir and plumbing...so just don't use the intensive system until you pick up a replacement hose.

These hoses dry out and crack with the heat under the hood. We had to replace all the windshield washer hoses on my friend's 2000 540i. One trip to the local Ace Hardware to buy some hose and a couple hours work and it is all set for another 8 or 9 years.

trip to the home depot or Lowes should fix that. I used 1/4 inch diameter vinyl tube ($3) for my windshield system so far no problems at all.

If you have a power steering fluid leak, check the hoses where they connect at the bottom of the PS reservoir. The factory crimped fitting are known to leak. If that is it you can just cut them off and replace with screw type clamps.

If you have an owners manual...the washer & intensive washer system is explained. To activate the intensive washer system...you have to push the stalk in a specific direction...so if you don't push it in that direction...the intensive system won't be activated.

If you don't have an owners manual...you can download one in PDF format to your computer...go to www.e38.org/e39 and look at the bottom of the left column. If you need a manual for the MID or Nav system (not sure which one you have)...there should be manuals for those, too.

    Intensive Cleaner Pump

Not only did I break the hose, but I also Bumped the Pump off the reservoir. It is cracked/broke free & Will Leak if placed back where it was. I feel that I can use an adhesive to secure the pump back to the seal.

My Question is, What type of adhesive can I use to seal rubber to plastic?
