Friday October 2 through Sunday October 4, 2009: Sponsoring Chapter: Peachtree Chapter
It's the 40th Annual Oktoberfest at Road Atlanta! We are expecting a large turnout and accordingly are planning on having two run groups. The event will include a 60 minute enduro for each group and well as two sprint races for each run group. The race weekend will begin on Friday with practice and and the first sprint (Feature) race and will continue with a full schedule on Saturday and Sunday. Please note, as we are running race sessions on Friday we will not have the benefit of an optional practice day. [Edit 8/24/09] Group, we are confirmed to have 2 race groups for Ofest, which is fantastic! We still have room for more, so keep working on your friends and competitors [Edit 7/31/09] Friday's schedule will consist of two practices (20 and 25 minute duration), qualifying (25 minutes) and the Feature points race, of 30 minute duration. Saturday's schedule will consist of two practices (20 minutes each), qualifying (25 minutes) and a 60-minute Enduro points race. Sunday's schedule will consist of practice (25 minutes), qualifying (25 minutes), and will wrap up with the final points race, of 30-minute duration. [/Edit 7/31/09] Please note: we have reserved two separate run slots for racers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to allow for two complete run groups. This approach was used at WGI in 2008 and was very successful, so we'd like to do it again! However if we only register 64 cars or less we will only have one race group and the second group will be filled with DE students. Accordingly, you can reserve a spot on the grid with a paid registration only. We need 80-100 cars for two race run groups, so we will accept the first 64 paid registrations and will start a wait list until we hit 80 cars. Please don’t wait until the last minute as the decision to revert to one race run group will be made by July 31, 2009. IN OTHER WORDS, IF YOU WAIT TO REGISTER AND/OR WAIT TO PAY, YOU MAY BE LEFT OUT. Cost for the weekend will be $635 which includes your entry fee and a ticket for the Friday night banquet. Additional banquet tickets at $75 each may be ordered (and paid for) when you complete your registration at bmwcca.motorsportsreg.com. Also, please note there is no additional charge for co-drivers. If you do not turn a wheel, you will get a refund of your race entry fee. In addition to registering on the BMW CR website, you need to log onto bmwcca.motorsportreg.com to pay. Select register for the Oktoberfest Club Race event. If you do not have an account on MotorsportReg.com you will need to create one (it is painless) and then complete your registration and entry fee payment. You will not be considered “accepted” until you pay at bmwcca.motorsportreg.com At this point we are expecting that trailers can be dropped off after 6 PM beginning on Tuesday September 29, 2009 and during normal hours on Wednesday – Thursday. Your race fee entitles you to be on the Road Atlanta grounds all week, however if you would like to participate in any other Ofest activities, you will need to buy the appropriate tickets through the official OFest website. Please mail forms (not payments) to the address provided with the registration packet. All payments must be made through the Motorsportreg website. More... |
