Z3 (E36/7, E36/8) (1996 - 2002) In 1996 BMW added the Z3 to the lineup. First available only with the 1.9 liter engine, the Z3 went on to carry every 6 cylinder produced between 1996 and 2002. A fun, sporty little 2 seater came both in convertible and coupe form. Being a bit of a “parts bin” car, the Z3 is part E30, part E36, but all original.

Found one again...'01 3.0 Coupe

Last tuesday I picked up my third Z3 Coupe...
Started with a '99 2.8, then I got an '02 M coupe,
which got totalled because somebody crashed into it .
At first I wasn't planning on getting yet another Z3 Coupe,
but I just couldn't get over it...

So here it is. Velvet blue individual exterior, tanin red individual extended interior. When I picked it up it had done about 13000 kilometres, so that's about a little over 8K miles . Bought It from the first owner. He didn't really drive it. He just liked to mod, polish and show it.
Don't really agree with all the chrome on the car and the wheels are just.... But who cares, I couldn't be happier, the car simply looks and feels like new! Because...basically it is new .

Just took some quick pics...car's still on German Import plates.

The color's pretty hard to capture. Tanin red is more soft, not really bright red. Velvet blue looks purple in the sun, really purple, didn't get a lot of positive responses, it's as controversial as the car itself. I'm still getting used to it, but it's already growing on me. Enough said, enjoy (or not)!

Greetings from the Netherlands!

Mus

The interior is killing me but I love the exterior color. Those wheels have got to go though. Nice job finding an almost new used car!

I love the interior I also love the exclusivity of the exterior color But that is one crazy combo

Do you have close-up pics of the gauge console? Never seen one like that before.

Congrats, the car is good hands. Did you manage to keep any of the parts off your old coupe?

Another European 3.0 on here!
I remember reading about your M Coupe...

I agree with you on the chrome and the wheels... just not working.
The Tanin interior is fantastic (maybe because I know it's really not that bright). I'm wishing my interior was even half as coloured as your's...

What exhaust is that?

Beautiful color. I have never been a fan of red interiors but that looks incredible. I like the added gauge pod. Congrats on your unusual find. Good luck with her.

Thumbs up

looks awesome.. Velvet blue is also a pretty cool colour! (and pretty rare! ) - this is one of the 'better' pictures I've saw which display its qualities (deep blue to a brighter purple):

EDIT: it also looks like those are Hamann dial faces you have?

The interior is VERY nice. I would change the central console to black probably... Extended leather - very cool. I wonder why it wasn't offered even as an option on M Coupes. Does it say Individual on the door sills? Great find, congrats.

PS: Wheels gotta go, I agree.

Where do I get the red face gauges? I would think that would be nice on the imola and black M interior.. Crazy looking but I really like it.. Good luck dude!

Just noticed - tell us more about the gauges where the vents usually go - is it a custom job?

Thanks for the nice replies !

Here's a picture of the gauge console.

The gauges are still moveable (they work fine though)...I bought the car as it is, but indeed it must be custom. Still not sure whether to keep them or not. Good job though. Only if you turn the AC on the thing gets really cold :p.

I wasn't allowed to keep any parts. The wreck was sold, as it sat, because it was totalled (rules). Of course I took out what I could, wasn't that much .

The exhaust is Bastuck.

The dial faces are custom, the lighting's a bit off.

There's a strange M badge on the door sills :s...

Thanks again!

congrats! The interior is striking, that's for sure, although IMO it would go better with a different body colour. Not really feeling the wheels, although I like the colour-match thing.

Really sorry to hear about the totaled MC

Congrats on your purchase! Personally, I like the velvet blue, although I'm not diggin' the day-glo interior

um, has the rear bumper been hit, or is it just a weird reflection?

Edit: Oh, and I'm kinda meh about the rims, too...at least they're color coordinated.

I am liking it all! Wheels are great as well!

I almost bought a Velvet individual roadster, and my friend has another.
Color is stunning in person and chrome suits this color

Wow, 8K miles... So there still is chance for me to find a decent Z3 if/when I get back to Europe.

Congrats on the find!
