1999 - 2005 (E46) (1999 - 2005) Starting in 1999 the E46 3 Series picked up where the E36 left off. Larger, with smoother lines, and with more advanced engines than its predecessor, the E46 easily held the title of "Best Car of the Year" throughout its life.

other problem wity the e46

ok so i have another car but i us my e46 to drive to school since its 40 mns away and dont wanna put miles on the benz. so im drivin home and all of the sudden a huge grindin nois starts comin from my passengertire. i go home and see the th tire is kinda bald so i replac it but the noise didnt go away. now i notice that the whole damn tire is moving. i take off the tire and notice the rotors and pads are unusally worn out lbut only on that one tire and not the other 3. also the rotor and pads sem to move around when i fiddle with thm. i asked a friend who is also a mechanic and he said i could have a bad hub? what do u guys think is wrong? also my dash shows the abs light and the break light. and i just tried drivin it today and the rear tire started to brake when iwas not even touchin the brakr pedal

sorry for spellin mistakes. still trying to get used to the iphone

I am sure its your wheel bearings, just not sure if you can replace just them or if you replace the hub as a unit. don't drive it anywhere else. you can damage your spindle or weld your bearings to it.

i shut off the spell check feature, because i also type in other language, and it automatically tries to correct that so it becomes annoying after a while.

ps- i now hate my e46, cannot wait to get rid of it! first my tranny goes out, then my camshaft position sensors shut off on me, my window regulators are messed up after just 1.5 years, and now this stupide hub/bearing.
