1991 - 1999 (E36) (1991 - 1999) The first modern 3 Series, the E36, was the model that paved the way for the 3 Series to be named "Car of the Year" every year since the model was driving off showroom floors. Radically redesigned in 1992, the E36 was not the same 3 Series as the E21 and E30. Larger, less boxy in design, and equipped with a dual overhead cam engine, multilink rear suspension, and a more finished interior, the E36 balances sport with luxury.

Had p0442, now have p1421/p1423...found bad hose but...

Ok first I had a small evap leak i think p0442 or something awhile back. I am pretty sure i pumped my gas with my car on and it came on, but after resetting it it would not go away. Car sat for four months and today I scanned P1421 and p1423. I checked my SAP because I read that is the common cause and found the hose that goes to the headers to the pump cracked badly. I replaced that hoping it will fix my problem, but im thinking that will only fix the first code.

How do you remove that cover on the SAP? My filter looks horrible when I look in it, but I cannot get that cover off for the life of me. I do not want to break it but it seems like it pulls off. I tried pushing in on that tab also with no luck.

So far no check engine light. How long does it normally take for the light to come back on?
