2009 SCCA Pro Solo Finale (9/5-9/6) & Solo Nationals (9/8-9/11) Lincoln, NE

Alright, guys, you should all have your "tow packages" installed, and your valves shimmed, and be ready to go for Nats.

Who all is gonna be out there? I'm missing out this year, and will likely be there in a new (to me car) next year.

Haha valves shimmed, poor Andy Hollis. I wish I could be there, but I wont. Not until I can find a car to drive. Everyone who loves to autox should do this at least once.

CCA event this weekend? My Hoo-Hoos are still in FL, so I'm probably looking for something to drive .

EDIT: And "Poor Andy Hollis"??? Give me a break.

I will be in STX at the Pro Finale and it is looking like I might be in STX at Solo Nationals too.

Andy has done more good for the sport than 99% percent of the people involved in it... yet one ordeal still taints so many people's opinions of him. Nobody is perfect.

I'd hardly write the tow package incident off as "one ordeal". I won't deny his contributions to Solo, IMO, those kind of ethics & integrity, and, as shown again last season (write last season off as an "accident" all you want...) aren't welcome in the sport, IMO. Many are just willing to forgive the gigantic wrongs because of many gigantic rights.

I know this is not the place, and my comments will end with this, but I see no possible way that the incident last year was anything but an accident and provided absolutely no performance advantage over a stock valve spring...

I got drug back to my Auto X roots this year, racing in CS as a tire warmer most likely.

Look for the oldest car on the grid, that's me.

Love to meet some BFC Auto Xers!

oh yeah??? SWEET! Is your car put back together, or have you found another ride? It sounded like you were going ASP, did you realize all that power and grip were just boring compared to driving a family sedan on street tires? :P

And obviously Josh and I will be there, though which car we'll be in is still TBD...

If anyone is looking for a drive and would be interested in a DSP co-drive in a nationally competitive Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS, PM me. My buddy pat is badly in need of a co-driver still and now that it looks like he's running heat 1 Tues/Wed he really needs one.\

Run/Work order is up on SCCA : http://cms.scca.com/documents/work%2...0for%20DIM.xls

For those running the pro solo just a quick heads up: there's a home football game that Saturday night (6pm start time iirc) for Nebraska.

This means that anything near (5 mile radius -- and I-80 will be ridiculous) the stadium will get stupid busy by 3pm until well after the game is out. Plan on eating somewhere other than downtown until after the 6pm kickoff.

If you don't have your hotel reservations yet, get them now.

If you want to experience a Husker home game, you can usually find tickets for face value anywhere outside the stadium (10th and 'O' is a good place to start looking). It'll be a festive atmosphere and a lot of fun. Look for me at the game. I'll be wearing red.

Local eateries to try: Misty's downtown or on Havlock(mmm, prime rib, steaks, $$$), Buzzard Billy's in the old yet now new Haymarket area (cajun fare, $$), Valentino's Pizza multiple locations ($), Runza multiple loactions (yes, I know the name is odd but a Runza is a good thing to eat! Try one! $). There's also a brewpub in the Haymarket area that's pretty good (Lazlo's? I forget).

Oh, the local police will be out in force on gameday and night so don't be stupid. They don't seem to have a sense of humor in Lincoln.

Good luck and have fun (just not too much fun ).

Anyone who may end up w/ an issue w/ their cars and end up in a bind during nats should contact Russ @ Russ' Garage. http://www.russgarage.com

He is very, very experienced in all things performance
, not just BMW's. He's also an accomplished fabricator and has a plethora of tools. He is located in Omaha.

He's the only person I let do work on any of my cars besides myself.

Just wanted to toss that out there as in the past, people have gotten in binds and may not be sure on who in the area to get a hold of.

Thanks - Jon

What's up Chris! I'll come by and say hi (it's Todd in the Black evo from the mid-div) I think you'll do just fine - with the car doing what you want now, you'll have a blast. It was good meeting you (and all the other guys) last weekend. I am excited for nats!
I'll be running tues/wed in SM #70, white evo, big wing... hopefully battling it out with Sias (and the owner of the car I'm co-driving, of course)!
