I remember seeing an E30 on the boards somewhere with like a Ruby Black or something. It looked black in the dark, but in the sun the red popped. I'll try to find it.
EDIT: Ruby Black Metallic, I was right on that part. Here it is:
God I want that car.

I bought this when I was painting my 69 Pro Street Camaro.. I knew what color I wanted to paint her, but after buying this book I narrowed it down to about 50.. It's a shame you didn't post this sooner, as I just gave this book away last month and would of gave it to ya.. But TRUST ME, it's $$$ well spent!!! Everything from Pearls , Candies , Regular Colors, and even paint that glows in the dark..

I'm with Acid Green
monaco blue! i wish i could paint my car that color...E36 like you
first off need to know some stuff
Price range?
Painting engine bay, door sills, under carpeted trunk etc? or not?
Will this be a show car?
If its a show car and your on a budget (not a good mix at all) keep the new exterior color close to the original color...so if you aren't painting engine bay, door sills, under carpeted trunk etc, when those parts are opened and exposed it won't look like a sore thumb sticking out since there are two different colors.
If you plan on getting down and painting everything, then you can choose whatever color you'd like...and if thats the case...i love Byzanz! i would be painting my car this color if i wanted to do the engine bay, and all that...
Kind of like an orange metallic bronze!
lub this color the most...even more than my own Arctic. But i'm all about original looks, and paint techniques to separate the most from the rest. I did a pearl paint job over my arctic silver, with a second tone top to match the carbon fiber as you can see in my sig.

Silver Gray
Velvet Blue
BRG
Cosmos
Carbon
If you go fast, cherry red! If you want to be badass, keep it black and just soup it up a bit with tinted windows and new rims. If you want to be elegant, go silver or white. If you are a bit crazy, canary yellow
