8 Series (E31) (1991 - 1997) As the last E24 rolled off the production line in 1989, its replacement was quick on its heels to fulfill the fantasies of those looking for a touring coupe with all of the luxury, performance, and prestige of a BMW, only now with both 8 and 12 cylinder engines.

Question AC Install questions

Hello, well the new compressor is in but was told by my BMW car guy that I needed to change out the reciever / dryer. On my '93 850 is this it? ( NOTE: Cool Phoenix Engineering Tensioner eh?)

I bought this from Autohaus thinking it was the right part, I gave them the PN from RealOEM and this is what I recieved:
They're not the same as you can see. So, fellow 8'ers of the world, what the heck is the first picture, and or do I have the wrong part or Where the bloody hell does that big Chingas in the second picture go?

Behind the front wheel well apron toward the front of the car, passenger side. You have the right part.

you will also want to replace the expansion valve - relatively cheap, but a very good idea.

Yea, its irritating if the xp valve goes out, as your a/c will erratically cut out during operation.
