WTB: tires

Thank goodness for forged rims. I was on my way down p.o.s. Garland road this afternoon and something happened (pothole? ice heave? Jimmy Hoffa?) and managed to take a good sized chunk of tire out of my sidewall. Rim is a-OK, but the tire is not safe (but still holding air, miraculously). I need tires as it is, but this won't let me use up the last 1/32 of tread I have remaining So I am looking for four 225/45/17 or 234/40/17 or similar. Might consider some new rims with tires (5x100 pcd).

Thanks

were you running RFTs when this happened?
I'm interested in seeing the chunk out of tire you've got there

No run flats, P Zero Neros.

The bright stripe below the rim in the pictures is where I swiped my finger through the brake dust checking for scuffs.

265's are too wide for the rear. everyone who says they don't rub is a liar.

I'm running 255's right now with room to spare, and my rears aren't even rolled. 265 doesn't seem like it'd break the bank, and if it did, I can still roll...
