Can someone tell me when the last Club Race was at Road America?

It was Aug 23-24, 1997. The Windy City Chapter was the host.

I did a bit more digging and found a Club Race back in 2002 by Badger Bimmers.
Ofest10 will be at Road America.
Maybe I'll start up a poll to find how many people might be interested.

Had it on my schedule before Watkins Glen last year.

So you are saying there isn't a club race planned for Ofest next year?

We would probably go to O'fest races at Road America next year.

There would be a Club Race.
I was just wondering when the last one was and how many people would go.

I was at the last one in 02 or whenever that was, it was pretty lightly attended then and we were a run group within midwest council if I remember correctly.

Well, I'll be there, and I know of a number of folks who are intending to go.

Steve E. stands corrected on the 2002 date.

Yes, midwest council is still very willing to work with us to have BMW CCA CR events at Road America, but we don't have any chapters stepping-up to sponsor events there....so, we have not been there since '02.

Badger Bimmers will be hosting it.
Don't know if it will be the same as the past two years, combined with the DE.
I'd like to see (3) student rungroups on the days we have the autocrosses. This year we only have (2) student groups on Friday so a lot of people are turned away plus it makes assignments harder <I would think>. If there is a Club Race on the same day as a DE and only one CR group it would be OK.

I like the idea of having Club Races part of Ofest, just need to figure a way to balance things out.

{Was going to post this in the Mosport canceled thread, but might as well bump this one.}

Next year looks like the Ofest Club Race may be Aug 27-29, 2010.
What other races are normally towards the end of August?

In the Pacific Region, there is no race/location that is scheduled on a regular basis for the end of August. The only races/track that seem to be on a fairly regular schedule would be PIR in March and October.

not enough racers in the area race with CCA, hard to put on an event in light of that. Remember O-fest at Gingerman? only 3/4 local racers out of the ~12 showed up... the rest seemed like they were from Texas. You are right though, MC is very open to making something happen.

Glad to hear there is interest for RA next year... Hopefully Windy City BMW puts on the Club Racing school at the Autbahn Next spring... maybe that will luuure some people in the area into racing cca!
