E30 M3 vs. Z3 2.3

It was a nice warm day, the sun was shining and the birds were chirping. I am cruising down a 45 mph 2-lane road, following some fools that go 60 downhill and 30 uphill. The road opens up to an additional lane in our direction and the traffic splits up and starts turning off. I know the road goes back to 2 lanes shortly after the next traffic light. As luck would have it, the right lane is open at the light! I pull up and next to me I see what the problem was in the "hills:" a poster boy BMW owner. Yep, its a Z3 2.3 with the top down, a custom license plate, and the owner (white male, late 20s/early 30s) blabbing away on the bluetooth stuck in his ear. It is obvious to assume that it is also and auto. As we are waiting at the light he sees the spot where our lanes will merge, and suddenly gets a look on his face like he has to there first. He lets off the brake and rolls forward into the crosswalk, then jerks to a stop again since the light is still glowing red. Now at this point I've pretty much sworn off street racing after a 12 point ticket a few years back, but I'm fairly frustrated at the lack of his ability to maintain any sort of conisistant speed. I see the cross-traffic light turn yellow and slide it into first. I know that I have to wait for the turn arrows but I'm sure poster boy will get confused. He does the "inch forward and brake" a half dozen times and then the light turns green. I don't peel out from the light, but I hit it hard and react better than poster boy. I immediately start to pull. 7500 rpms and I hit 2nd perfectly, the tires put out a nice squeal and I floor it to the top of the gear. At this point I've got about 4-5 cars, the look of shock barely visible on poster boy's face as his "client" probably wonders why he is stammering on the bluetooth. I get to the merge area, and proceed on driving the same speed both up and down hills; with poster boy no-doubt wondering how I maintain a constant speed while doing so. In the end it was 22-year old 4 cylinder-1, 8 year old 6 cylinder-0.

Nice job! An e30 m3 is pretty quick off the line if launched properly. No one gets by my car when that sort of situation happens.
