Suspension Geometry
i was wondering what the reasonable spacing between the front tire and the shock/spring would be considering the camber is not adjustable. as the suspension travels, does the tire come closer to the spring or farther away? i measured with the car off the ground today and i have less than 3/16'' between the spanner of my coilovers and the front tire, i couldn't even swipe my finger between, and i'm running a stretch. should i consider a small spacer? thanks guys.

so you can't fit your finger back there either? i was hoping the spanner would position itself lower when placed on the ground compressed, which is what it will probably do. just worried cuz my new wheels are 17x9 et8's all around with 235's. thanks jared.

There's no freakin way I can get a finger back there. I'm lucky to get a sheet of paper back there.
![]() I'm running 17x9 with ET24 and 15mm spacers wrapped in 255s.

The strut and the wheel are fixed in relation to one another with the limited exceptions of flex in the structure of the spindle, strut or hub and deflection of the body of the wheel. all of these items being tiny, the clearance you have should be more than sufficient.
