Some paint correction on a Ferrari F355

Some of you may recognize this car from Cars and Coffee or some of my events. My buddy Steve and I detailed this car over the 4th of July weekend. After making the owner realize how bad of shape the car was in... he gave us the keys. For us we were just excited to help make this car gorgeous again...

We brought the car down to my fam's garage in cambridge and started working on the car... We learned a lot about this car... at 14 years old it gets more attention then either car me or Steve own... combined, good when you're driving it, bad when you're trying to detail it, lol "Is that a REAL Ferrari? Its not built on some Ford is it?" was a common response.

So we started on the car on Saturday July 4th at about 11am. We started by washing with Adam's Auto Shampoo and claying with Adam's clay and detail spray for lube. After we washed the second time, we pulled the car out to see it in the sun... and boy, we were both suprised to see the amount of spider webbing on the paint.

Here is a pic in the sun after clay bar and washes... looks OK from a distance but you can see some light swirling where the sun shine hits the front fender.

When you got closer to it, and saw the condition of the paint you would be suprised that a car still looks this good with the condition of this paint...

We stopped for the day for a couple reasons... it was roughly a million degrees out, and Me and Steve were getting invites to a BBQ... We got back to the shop at about 10pm and washed the car again, and started on the fun stuff...

I started taping up the vents on the engine cover, the rubber gaskets around the doors and targa roof area, and the the two air scoops behind the side windows as they have quite a bit of black plastic there. The engine cover took quite a bit of time to do
Below you can see the car mid tape and Steve starting to test the panels...

We hit the car with Menzerna SIP on an aggressive pad and did multiple passes with the flex tool. We then hit it with the Menzerna 106FF using the porter cable...

This shot was taken at about 3am...

And our finished product(after 7hours of two people working on the car)...

Also we had done the roof... what I thought was leather at first, ended up being plastic. I completely rejuvinated the black targa top by using a product called Black Wow... it had really made the targa top look BRAND NEW. All in all me and Steve had a fun time detailing the car, we really got the Fcar ownership experience and I have to say, the car is an ENTIRELY different experience to anything I have driven. It isnt any faster then my M3 and in fact, was a more comfortable ride then I expected it to be.

I think later this summer me and the owner are going to dye his seats and then leatherique them... Its great to bring the car back piece, by piece...

In the first full size pic you can tell that the right rear quarter panel has a dent

Sick car, great work.

Are you surprised that a 15 year old Ferrari gets more attention than a 7 year old BMW?Shit even my car gets more attention than an E46.
And lol at the kit car comments.

Good to know I inspire
