Got some repair estimates and something funny came up..
When the VIN on my car (99 e36 m3), it lists the differential as a positraction.
Now, I'm almost certain that all e36 M3's came with limited slips and a positive rear end wasn't even an option. Now my father seems to think that there had to have been an option and it is in fact a positraction rear end, in which I'm arguing that, in the same way that americans call european 4wd AWD, that BMW denotes the cars clutch-type LSD as a positive traction rear end. Can anyone clear this up for me? |

Yep, your good, its the same thing......although you'd think the description was written in the 70's or 80's!
