Probably level sensor in the tank is on its last leg. Mine is also starting to show eratic reading but not as bad as your describe, just keep an eye on the miles every time you fill up and don't trust the gauge.

But if you want to replace the level sensor I'm sure there's some DYI out there.

You mean "a long" instead of "along". Also, "its" needs an apostrophe since it's a contraction of the phrase "it is".

Lighten up, Francis... at least you learned something today.

You were the one that took the piss out of my spelling ,i only asked a question and you found it amusing ..your spelling only needs to be good if you are an office worker etc, I have five trucks on the road so spelling is not a major problem ...regards paul.

Spelling and grammar need to be close to "proper" so people take you seriously when you're asking for advice on the repair of your car(s). I for one was questioning the possibility of some mental handicaps.

Your posts tend border unintelligeable.

Nick picking anybody!!!

agreed, it's just a car forum after all. I say mis-spelling is acceptable. But, bad grammar is another story.

It's not acceptable. Most "new" web broswers have a built-in spelling feature. If you spell something wrong it will highlight it. If you right click where it's highlighted it will give you options.

I can overlook the missed key here and there, but trying to read this babble is a struggle. If you want advice don't make the person helping have to WORK for it.

back to the problem at hand, no i dont think you have to drop the tank to change out the floats, iirc they can be accessed from cutouts under the rear seats.. it could be that just one of the sensors are bad.. anyone know if you can change the right float without having to replace the fuel pump also?

Hey all, I have the same thing happening with my fuel guage. It started the day I read this thread, or at least that's when I noticed it. I have a question regarding the fuel guage operation.

Does the computer affect the guage reading or is it strictly based on the float/level sensor in the tank?

The reason I ask is that my speedo stopped working and computer reports fuel milage (litres per KM) /intermitently and the fuel gauge was fine until the the computer started reported 35+ L/100km!!! Would this affect the guage operation? This may be a stopid question, but who better to ask it!! ;-))

Cheers my freind ,will report back with any new developments. Its seem like the guage ,and computer must be connected as the guage seems to go down as well as the fuel reading on the computer .They only way i can check my fuel is reset the trip when i put fuel in ,it seems to read wright after putting fuel in.then the readings goes south for the winter.
