Sad Day - Just Bass

Not really anything important. Just a sad story and me being a little emo

Last night was a friend's birthday dinner so got some tickets for an upcoming concert. Happy to drive the 1 hour to his house becuase I found a new celtic/gaul Melodic Death Metal band...(See Link Below). Drove the hour blasting it and enjoying the vert.

Park, go to dinner in another persons car and get back to their house. Hang around and then decide to leave. Fire up car and all I get is bass Check trunk and the light on the Alpine MRP-F250 is off. My friend had just thrown some bags in there so I assume he might have hit it. Fuses are blown.

Disconnect battery, put in fuses. Undo all connections to confirm nothing is touching. Put the battery back on and uh oh... fog machine is let loose in the trunk! Lots of smoke and not much music. No blue light on the amp either... friend freaks out(haha) and I disconnect it. I drive a long, boring 1 hour with no music The Rainbows don't sound very good with 0W RMS Still have my bass though! haha

Time to do some 6.5 drivers in the old girl and more power?

Maybe the new jams blew the amp up? M3 has our Stage 1 so all is not lost! I can drive that right now!

My guess is the amp couldn't stand to play that music and committed Hari Kari.

I guessed this would be the first reply

We are working on it. We have prototypes and are close to testing phase.

Then of course there's In Extremo, Saltatio Mortis, Tanzwut, and a few more that I can't remember at the moment - along with Within Temptation there's Theatre of Tragedy, Nightwish (older stuff), and Tarja Tourunen(sp).

Other than that - I really like Eluveitie but the yelling and growling has got to stop - I can't understand a word he's singing/saying!

I'm in the same position as you. One of my channels on my amp decided to go south so I have been without front speakers for a long time now. As with you, however, I still have bass. It sucks.

As an aside, as far as I am concerned (which means a lot, this is an internet forum remember!) melodic metal starts and ends with Black Dahlia Murder.

Well Halston it sounds like it is time to run some Clarus and Zapcos then you wont have this problem anymore. In fact after hearing them, and if for any reason the amp wont turn on you will REFUSE to drive the car until the music is back on

Tom hooked me up with a cheap replacement while I decide what I actually want to do. I didn't have any other amplifiers and most of our BSW stuff we have it integrated for an easier(and cleaner) install It plays music and that is what I needed right now.

Why not just connect the front speakers to a different channel? I'd much rather have just my fronts than just my sub or just the rears...
