1991 - 1999 (E36) (1991 - 1999) The first modern 3 Series, the E36, was the model that paved the way for the 3 Series to be named "Car of the Year" every year since the model was driving off showroom floors. Radically redesigned in 1992, the E36 was not the same 3 Series as the E21 and E30. Larger, less boxy in design, and equipped with a dual overhead cam engine, multilink rear suspension, and a more finished interior, the E36 balances sport with luxury.

Talking Post DIY service indicator reset? What service coming up?

hey all,

Man im enjoying my car! Theres this amazing road in WA, stevens pass. Its Hwy 2, through cascades and wenatchee national forrest.

I drove it 4 x last week, me and the car both thought we were in the alps.

Shes sooooo DIRTY!!!

breathtaking clifs, narrow 2 lane mostly, nothing straight about it. Theres a '50 mph' hairpin that reveals amazing pine covered/mtns and valleys.

JOY!

She hummed polka, i swear.

Ive driven /alot/ of places, this is my new favorite.

I /owned/ it at dawn, heading east through the cascades 2 times. Im gona be driving that for sport alot before the snow falls. theres a drivein burger joint im suddenly fond of.

So i got a oil change over there. (5w30 blend)The shop didnt have the diagnostic tool, and i ended up shorting pins 7 and 19 to reset the service indicator.

It worked, shes all green.

My question is this...

Is there a list of what service is recommended at particular miliage? I assume that the indicator lights refer to more then oil change, and i'd really like to know what service is coming up at particular miliage.

She just turned 150, on my 94. (5 speed, 2 door, yummy)

Thanks

A

Check a bentley manual. It has all the service items listed.
