Cammed Evo 8, 332is, Probably stock Evo 9 MR
Ive had a few mitsubishi encounters as of late... Driver mod and passengers influenced the results a bit.
My friend has a cammed evo 8 with a few other minor mods here and there. Not sure of all the details / HP its putting down, but it is a bit quicker than a stock evo. We did a casual 20 roll up to about 100 and he jumped ahead about a car and half and we were rode pretty even till we shut down at about 100. Not a win, but I was expecting him to consistently pull away. The S52 still impresses me almost a year after the swap ![]() The next encounter was just a few minutes ago on the way home. A gunmetal very clean and nicely dropped Evo IX MR follows me rather closely for about a mile or so. I couldn't tell what it was in the dark from rear view, but I could see that it had some suspension work judging by the way the angle of the HIDs changed when going over bumps in the road. Anyway, we reach a stretch of the road where it is multi-lane and he pulls next to me at the next stop light. Here we are on an almost empty 4 lane street, we exchange quick compliments about each others cars, and agree to have a go at the green. He had 2 passengers with him, and bogged the launch pretty bad. We go at the green and I get the jump about a car or so(he appeared to bog it a bit), and we stay as we are all the way up to 130ish, despite the fact that my car does an enormous 2nd gear scratch and the tail actually kicks out a bit. There is another signal light approaching so I decide to back off, he makes a left at the light and I keep going straight. I assume his car would beat mine if driven properly and without the added weight of two friends, but again, the S52 impressed me. No real big mods for me. Obviously the rebuilt S52 is the main power adder. 3.91 also helps when racing from a dig. My car is also a little lighter as I have a bunch of the sound deadening out and back seats out, but nothing major.

My buddy just picked up a 93 325, with a s52, intake, m50 mani, exhaust and 3.91. I was quite impressed, until we ripped the guibo in half. Definitely a very quick car.
