I live in Irvine, CA. While driving around town the nav system in my four month old 2009 328i thinks I am in a different city 30% of the time. The location is correct; the city name displayed is incorrect - a different city down the road is shown. Does anyone else here in Irvine or elsewhere have this problem. It would seem the map data base BMW uses is woefully out of date (over 20 years). The dealer says the system works correctly, and suggests I pay for a map update next quarter. I'm trying to determine if my car's system is the problem, or the entire BMW navigation map location system for everyone is faulty.
