Hey Everyone,
I'd like to share with you all that goes into building a high performance engine. There are many measurements that need to be taken and tolerances that need to be verified. It's not everyday that you get ready to assemble a BMW engine that will be making over 250 horsepower per cylinder, so I figured it would cool to share with everyone what goes into making it all work.
Below you will find pictures showing the products we've developed to handle the extreme power requests of various customers. This particular engine is getting all of the necessary components to ensure the engine is as reliable and efficient as it can possibly be.
* 1600HP Piston & Rod Set
* Billet Main Caps
* 1/2" Studs
* O-Ringed Block
* CNC Ported Head
* Shim Under Bucket Conversion Kit with +1 Intake Valves & Inconel Exhaust Valves
* Billet Turbo Cams
On to the pictures (the exciting stuff)!!
Our Shim Under Bucket Valvetrain Conversion Kit...
Our Billet Turbo Cams made for this particular engine...
Pistons & Rods which will be used to handle the power...
Our CNC ported head to assist with as much flow as possible...

Damn I wish i had like a crap ton of moneyz. need built head!
Block with billet caps installed to show how they look...
Block freshly bored and honed...
I see no o-ring reliefs in the block... I assume that's coming later?
A word of Internet Forum wisdom: Disregard any advice that begins with "I've heard..."

Dropping in the crank and a piston & rod set to show wants need to be measured and taken into consideration...
Took out a few tools to show what is measured...

That's all I have for now. Once the engine is actually assembled, I will take pictures showing the O-Rings and other parts of it. We should have it built within the week.
Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions!!!

Beautiful products man!
What forced induction setup is going to be used to attain the 1400 horsepower!? Can we have some more details!!!?
Measure twice, cut once!
Looks beautiful, I look forward to seeing 1400 hp!
It's not as expensive as you think, shoot me an email and we can chat about it.
Yeah, this was just for illustrative purposes. The motor will be built in the coming days and I'll then take pictures of it all assembled.
Thanks.
The customer plans on using a turbo that will make ~1000 horsepower until he breaks the motor in. He then is going to swap in a bigger unit which can support the necessary flow for 1400 horsepower (~1250 rwhp).
Is this going in your car, Dave? Looks sick. You can tell you've done your research..

Looks awesome Dave! Hey, when is your car gunna be running?
And thanks for the turbo Dave, its working great! I'll be back for more goodies down the road for sure

looks awesome :

Dave, love the build!
What is so billet about those cams? Is that what u call them?
and also are you going to be using a dry sump oil setup for that kind of power??
really? idk if ive ever seen anyone push that much horse out of that displacement in a BMW. usualy anything over 1000hp is done on an S38. makes me proud to have an M5x engne .
they'll be chewing up supras in no time.
no matter what they say, the size of your unit matters.
Good looking stuff Dave

The block is an M52 with an S52 crank, and it is bored out to 84.5mm increasing the displacement to 2.9L.
...Damn my photography looks good...
With the amount of products being released from you guys, maxpsi, trm, etc. in the past few months, I think we will be on thier level in no time!!!
I mean two years ago, I dont think that anyone would have thought that we would be getting 500 whp out of the stock s5x platforms!!!
This stuff makes me soo excited to have joined the bmw forced induction world when i did!!
Thats amazing!
