    Bought a 1993 M3... Euro??

I bought a 1993 M3 with around 330 KMs on it. This is my 3rd e36 in just over a year I dont know much about the car and the owner knows even less. Its in pretty bad shape body wise but for 1200$ i could'nt care less.

I'm not sure but I was doing some research and I believe this might be a euro S50B30 which would make me a very lucky and happy guy. Does anyone have any info about this car and what kind of mods would be needed to put a turbo or supercharger in? Any wise word or advise from other S50B30 owners would be much appreciated.

It might wise to first figure out for sure what you actually bought before you start buying mods. If Euro M3s weren't sold in Canada, I somehow doubt the owner wouldn't know anything about the car since they would be quite rare and probably a bit pricey.
    Just my 2c.

At 93' it could well be a Euro since that's a very early M3 and I think the US got them a year or two later.

330,000 km's is a quite a bit to add FI, would you be rebuilding the whole thing at the same time?

The US spec M3 didn't come around until '95 AFAIK, sounds like that thing will need quite a bit of work to get it back to DD status. 330kms is quite a bit of mileage.. you're probably looking at an engine rebuild at the very least before going FI.

I'll take pictures when I get the chance I didn't even pick the car up yet I just put a deposit I'm waiting to work things out with seller.

I will definitely open the engine up see what it needs when I get it I'm already sure needs a valve adjustment at least.

Its probably too early to start thinking about FI but I was wondering if it was a good idea to turbo or supercharge this engine would it be worth it ?

Ohh and carjoe I might have take you up on that photo session since I dont have a camera right now.

I thought E36's all had hydraulic lifters, hence no need for valve adjustment..?

Yep. No valve adjustments on our cars. They can be shimmed if the valvetrain is worn or changed, but that's it.

The S50B30 (3.0L Euro M3 engine, 286bhp) doesn't have hydraulic lifters. Valves need to be adjusted periodically.

I thought Euros' were 94 only. They were all documented somewhere, can't find the location though.

Have you registered on Maxbimmer yet? Lots of almost local gearheads can help you out there...

The s50b32 is an incredible platform to turbo. Go to the FI subforum and search for Sweden. See what people with even longer and colder winters can do with that engine.
