Exclamation Need help building a comprehensive BMW Acronym/Abbreviations list.

This may appear to be OT, but the list is for the E39 FAQ.

I already have a list in the FAQ, but the list is incomplete. If anyone has a BMW specific acronym or abbreviation that is not on this list or knows of a more complete list, please post it up.

    TIA

    Thanks, guys.

I seem to remember one missing in the E's that set me off on wanting to tackle this, but I don't recall which one.

I'd like to keep it as straight forward BMW as I can, if you know what I mean.

I think we're around the same age, so I thought Arnold Horshack might be right in the old wheelhouse for you, Jamie!

I'll rack my brain for the missing E... but I ain't promising anything!

SES and CEL are different on this list than what I am used to hearing associated with them.
Usually CEL = Check Engine Light and SES = Service Engine Soon, correct?
    Are these not "technical" abbreviations?

Great work, I note you're doing this for the E39,

I really stuggled when I found a hiss at the back of my inlet manifold on my M73, was to do with my PCV - positive crank vent OR pressure control valve

I didn't see CCV - Crank Case Vent (valve or system). BMW unique and a corollary to the PCV system. Very nice list, I might add!!!

SES and CEL are different on this list than what I am used to hearing associated with them.
Usually CEL = Check Engine Light and SES = Service Engine Soon, correct?
    Are these not "technical" abbreviations?
I think they are essentially the same things, I have seen them both used interchangeably on different cars. But I would assume that if a car existed that could produce both of these lights - CEL would be reserved for emissions (not urgent problems) whereas SES would be in regards to an immediate problem (your head gasket has imploded!)

Great list though, thanks for that

Personally I like to use "MIL" = " Malfunction Indicator Lamp."
