PTG BMW E46 GT 00 001 restoration

We are currently restoring the prototype E46 ALMS car PTG built for the 2000 season.

We are restoring to the Silver/Burgandy colors it ran from the 3rd race of the season on as seen on this link:

http://moorespeed.com/services/resto...46GT00001.html

If anyone has rear photos we really need copies to get the correct decals and details. The car had nine layers of paint and primer on it (all original) and like an archeological dig. Decals are another story.

We've had help from some of the PTG guys but no one has rear photos.

Please feel free to email them to me direct as high resolution as you have up to around 10megs at a time to david@moorespeed.com

thanks in advance.

Wow, that's very cool. I've never even seen that livery before, only the red/white/black.

Thanks guys,

Check out this link:

http://www.racingsportscars.com/chas...%2000-001.html

chronicals the car pretty good, although we found some yellow on the quarter panel on in the middle layers. There were actually more than 10 layers of paint which is highly unusual on a car of only 10 years of age, but it firmly confirms the history of the chassis too. I have literally thousands of photos that will end up on our web on a dedicated area for this particular car eventually.

We really need help on the rear end photos. We've figured out the paint scheme but do not have a clue on the rear decals and any trim/badges.

thanks again,

David Moore

Ok, I was able to get photos from Bruce Miller, professional photographer who was at all the ALMS races in 2000.

Love the car, but never liked the Burgundy/Silver scheme when new. The Virgin white looks the best.

Getting close. The Quail is coming up and we have been invited which is cool since Stuck drove this car and it is the prototype E46 M3

It's kinda funny for the owner of a vintage racecar like myself hear the phrase, restoration and 2000.....hehe
