    Question Wing mirror replacement DIY

I need to switch over my mirrors and have the trim off, but how do you take the window bit off?? (The black frame with speaker to get the other 2 bolts for the wing mirror?)

    I have found this for a E46: http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...lacement-t723/

Is there on for a E39??

This is from DouglasABaker on m5board: I hope it helps:

The mirrors are held on by a large torx bolt hidden behind the mirror sail and the tweeter. So yes, you need to remove the door card and pull the tweeter. This isn't hard, and no, the retaining parts don't normally break, but be very careful not to twist / flex the card at all or you will a) crack the wood trim and b) crack the air vent.
