UUC * New product announcement: E30 swaybars, legal for SpecE30

NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT:

E30 SwayBarbarian™ Anti-Roll Bar set from UUC Motorwerks

Delivering Superior Handling & Performance for the BMW E30 3-Series

CLICK HERE FOR MORE IMAGES and PRICING
UUC Motorwerks is pleased to announce a new product offering, the E30 3-series UUC SwayBarbarian™.

Created, designed, and manufactured by the leaders in aftermarket upgrades for BMW, the E30 SwayBarbarian delivers superior quality and the ultimate in sway bar performance.

Provided in a 22mm front / 19mm rear combination with Aurora Bearing link components, urethane bushings, and bracket reinforcement, the E30 SwayBarbarian is optimized for use in NASA Spec E30 and BMW CCA Club Racing. It is also a great product for installation in a standard street car format for enhanced handling and performance

What do Anti-Roll Bars do?

UUC SwayBarbarians improve handling by minimizing the lateral traction-robbing body "lean" that rolls part of the outside tires off the pavement. By replacing the narrow OEM bars and rubber bushings with larger diameter (stiffer) alloy steel bars and polyurethane bushings. More roll stiffness means more roll resistance and less body "lean", and the tires stay flatter on the pavement (maintaining a larger contact patch). The result is more lateral grip and added chassis control.

UUC SwayBarbarians are cold-formed using custom-built precision bending equipment. Laser-cut bar ends and positive-stop bushing retainers are MIG welded in place using a precise fixture for an exact fit.

Technical Details:

The SwayBarbarian for the E30 3 series offers a unique set of technical features, including:
  • Powdercoated chromoly steel bar material.
  • Precision-cut adjustable ends.
  • Fixed-position front mounting, 3-position adjustable rear mounting.
  • Positive-stop rear bushing guides to ensure bar stays in place.
  • Race-spec spherical bearing adjustable rear end links for precision operation and tuning for height and corner balancing.
  • Urethane bushings, hardware kit, and lubrication included.
  • Complete E30 bracket reinforcement kit included.

Superior Materials

We use the highest-quality materials in our product manufacturing process, and follow a rigorous testing regimen to ensure the final release is the strongest, most durable product possible. Chromoly steel for the bars themselves, aircraft-grade urethane for the bushings, and professional racing-quality links and bracket pieces are all standard parts of the package.

Adjustability
  • In compliance with Spec E30 race rules, the front bar has a single-position fixed mounting point.
  • The rear bar uses a multi-hole (3-hole) system which allows for fine tuning of the chassis balance.

Powdercoated Finish

A silver powdercoat is applied for a smooth, long lasting finish. This durable finish allows the bars, when properly installed with polyurethane bushings and grease, to deliver long term performance with minimal maintenance.

Adjustable Spherical Bearing End Links

Genuine Aurora Bearing link components are used for precision race control, yet are durable enough for long-term quiet street use.

Polyurethane Bushings

The E30 SwayBarbarian includes replacement polyurethane bushings, which are built to "aircraft spec" (literally - our urethane fabrication facility uses the same material and production guidelines as they do for Boeing). This results in a durable bushing that will not disintegrate and has extended re-lubrication intervals for long-lasting, quiet results.

Race Design

Specifically built for compliance with NASA Spec E30 racing rules and track-tested with the assistance of Harrison Motorsports (the premiere Atlanta-area BMW race prep and performance facility), the UUC SwayBarbarian set for the E30 has the features and performance that will assuredly put many E30s on the winner's podium!

im having a hard time seeing how those front swaybar bushing brackets work with the subframe... the original ones consist in one hole and a slotted tab, how do this work in?

The factory bracket, simply put.. is crap.

Its a weak design and it is prone to bending/snapping off, particularly in states that salt their roadways. This design looks to greatly strengthen this under engineered weak point.

yes i was aware.

i just dont see how this is retrofitted into an e30 subframe. i imagine you would need to drill an extra hole for the second bolt, but even then i dont really see how it would work. the weak point is the little factory ear where the stock bracket attaches to, and that doesnt seem to be improved on here, unless im missing something.

Looks like the rears come with the extra weld-on tabs. I'd still recommend buying the trunk floor reinforcement for the center brackets.

UUC Motorwerks E30 SwayBarbarians

Greetings!!!

My E30 is sitting on Ground Control Coilovers (440fr/650r) with Koni's. She was running the stock sway bars. She handled pretty good....but as you can see she still had a bit too much body roll.

UUC happens to now have SwayBarbarian's for the E30.

UUC Motorwerks E30 3-series (Spec E30™ legal) swaybars

So, off she went to Harrison Motorsports for the install.

These things are soooo nice!!! The body roll has been greatly reduced. She stays virtually flat through hard cornering. I was able to take her out to Road Atlanta for the Peachtree BMW CCA Driving School in March and was highly impressed. The car felt so planted and stable. There was almost no understeer. They are absolutely amazing!!!!

They are a 22mm front and a 19mm rear. The front is fixed and the rear is adjustable between 3 positions. Spherical bearing adjustable front and rear end links are included. And they come in a pretty silver podercoated finish!

So, for anyone wanting to improve the performance of their E30...I would highly recommend these. And...they are Spec E30 legal for you racers.

Go get 'em!!!

jason

yeah they look good. I have a similar GC setup as you (450/650) on stock sways, but i never felt the need to increase the wheel rate more. Maybe I will give these a try, I'll be rebuilding my car to Spec E30 anyways so I need a sway bar kit.

Are you a real person or a hired actor?

I saw that set on their website the other day. Nice bars but why so much more than the Spec3 bars?

Also Jason, did you notice any difference in the way the car rides going straight?

I am a real person...but i act for free.

As for the car riding straight...there was no change. Still low and level.

I use the stock sway bars with my set up. It is faster and more forgiving. For $440 I would go with that new MAF set up, or another track day.
