so I've owned my first E28 for 7 days .. and I like it ..the big 6 is quite familiar...(it's my 4th one) but not with a 5 speed... it's fun . I popped a tire bead off the rim messing with the LSD diff. (tires were under inflated) I aligned the hood pop cable to pop correctly. and removed the after market alarm.....then cleaned the throttle body intake hoses and idle valve and the air flow sensor...(dont know what this is called...)...? the car idles at a smooth (900)rpm's...things to do: new tires, shift linkage, steering components, adjust valves (probably do that this weekend), oil pan gasket.....later on I'll get struts and springs.....still working on my noisy stupid muffler! and...wow, these old seats are pretty comfortable still....!

IS that the car that was in LaConner. If so I hate you LOL. I told the old man I was going to be there between 1 and 3 I called 5 mins before 3 as i was pulling into LaConner and he said I sold it an hour ago. Thoughts went thru my mind of giving him a good lawn job. Total time and miles wasted 4 hours and 150 miles maybe more.

I already had a 3 piece getrag ready to get rid of the POS cooling fin trans that year had.

Yep got 3 sets of H&R's and billys. And 2 sets of the green racing dynamics. The sweet set up for billys is heavy duties in the front sports in the rear. It works perfect.

I made a short throw shifter to day for my E28...
I got a stock shifter from the only E28 at any of the washington "pull a parts"
and cut under the ball on the shifter then I found a nut but I ended up using some steel stock instead about 1/2.in was added not a professional job but it should work...... will see..?

A small bracket on the sub frame was discovered broken to day this was the culprit of the loose and clinky steering ... so I got a used one from a yard to day I'm going to put it in and do the oil pan gasket at the same time.
and finally got rid of the horrible ricer exhaust and got a replacement.

So..... to day saturday I woke up at the crack of dawn. had to get to work and get started. I didn't get to everything I hoped for but I completed the main goal.. oil pan seal and new subframe.
got it apart in a leisure 3 hours then had some lunch....! then back to work...I got things back together about 6pm I think it's all good...! ....O..and some photos. the man I purchased the car from said the engine had been rebuilt and from the looks of it .... yes ... this is a big relief..

............I will be making a "DIY" write up for this.......................................

Looks like you're having about as much fun as I'm having with my e28. Congrats on a great purchase!! Maybe I'll see you sometime if we have a club event in Seattle that I can make it over for.

OOH .... I installed my home made quick shift kit today . for such a small job it sure is messy..! I had to make my own bushing for the bottom hole -name ? - I used flexible PVC tubing and washers ..... perfect ..... the PVC is just cut to size. No photos of this sorry just got in to the job... usually better about photos. here's the photos I did take....! ............................I would say that it's not race but sport a little modest but way better than stock !
