Thumbs up DFW Charity Racing back-roads cruise: 4/19/09

When-Sunday 4/19/09
Time-2:00pm
Driver's meeting-2:30
Address of meeting spot:
1800 N Graves Street, McKinney, TX 75069

Map of where to meet:
http://yellowpages.superpages.com/mapbasedsearch/mapsearch.jsp?C=Collin+County+Court+at+Law&STYPE=S &L=Mckinney+TX&LID=0133873158&map.x=212&map.y=125& level=8&lat=033214786&lng=-096628824&POI1lat=033214786&POI1lng=-096628824&POI1name=Collin+County+Court+at+Law&stre etaddress=1800+N+Graves+Street&city=McKinney&state =TX&zip=75069&spad=no

1st half-estimated time 1 hour
Drive about a mile or 2 down the road then turn on to farm roads
The first half will be mostly straightways with few curves and scenic Texas Country(oxymoron?).
Then we pull in and stop in a flat field. I can not stress enough how flat the field is- A Dodge Viper 650R was able to drive in this field with no issues(Is pending depending on how many cars show)
Drive a few more miles and we will come to a Cheveron.

2nd half-estimated time 50 minutes to 1 hour
Leave Chevron
Nice long straightway for a mile or 2
Turn on to more farm roads
Lots of twisties and curves-will really test one's suspension!
Pop out at 75
Head south to Big Tony's for food and raffle drawing
100 Miles round trip from the meeting spot

Where the cruise will end:
http://www.bigtonysgrill.com/index.html

Big Tony's Pizza & Sports LLC
1705 W University Dr. Suite 118
McKinney, TX 75069-3218
972-542-8669

We will be raffleing off a $50 best buy giftcard and we will have a 50/50 pot as well. Raffle tickets for the BB gift card will be sold for 50 cents a piece. We will also be giving away 1 free raffle ticket to those who bring items such as size 4 diapers(50 pack).

For every additional 20+ diapers on top of the 50 you bring, you will get an extra raffle ticket for free. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the start of the cruise and stopping points. The drawing will be held at Big Tony's.
As always we will accept cash donations that will be used for the families. Thanks again for everyone's support!

Enjoy the promo video

Hey, we're a charity... So what if Collin County has paid us some $ to try to get folks with expired inspections out so they can make some easy $.

I didn't even realize it was at a DMV office. One of our moderators planned out the cruise. As long as your car's legal, I wouldn't expect any issues. Plus it's a Sunday, so I doubt there will be any of the fine Collin County Civil Servants on hand.

nice, that is very close to home for me!

are bikes welcome? It might be fun to take the sport bike out since all of my cars are the suckzors. I don't think they woudl let me rock the ETA since it's tags have expired....

Bikes are more than welcome. You'll likely have a few others to ride with (no squids, all responsible bikers).

Yea Jeff, no squids. So you still have the Suzuki, or did you have something else?

The riding is tasty up there.

Should be a fun day. We'll have a professional photographer out there shooting pics and video, a few other amateurs with cameras, plus I'll be bringing my little GoPro video camera that I shot this footage with:

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/D...rag_641298.htm

Didn't get much footage, but it was more of a test run anyway. Can't beat it for $150... Should make for some fun shots on the twisties.

Last bump. Hopefully I'm not the only Bimmer out there... The weather's going to be absolutely perfect.
