Take your time, no shortcuts.
Today saw the new low profile electric aux fan go in and fuel injectors swapped for the higher flow units from the AA kit. Today was also crankcase vent and vacuum plumbing day.
Unfortunately, this stuff was pretty inaccessible under the M50 intake manifold. So, the manifold had to come off to connect, disconnect and reroute a bunch of hoses. The manifold removal and reinstall added several unanticipated hours to the project today.
We ended the day working on installing the new serpentine belt tensioner.
So, here's a question for those who have done this job, how did you remove the hardened steel pivot post from the original belt tensioner??
Here's some pics of the progress so far...

I don't recall having to do anything with the belt tensioner; did you go back and look at any of my previous sc jobs?
Post up a picture of what you're trying to accomplish, and I'll see if I can help you out.
BTW, wait untill what you see is in store for Tweety...
Thanks Randy, I'll take some time to go through your pics for ideas. Meanwhile, here is what I'm talking about...

That doesn't look familiar to me, do you have a view from the front?
Does that SC require the tensioner be disected, as that post is not what's left behind when you remove the entire tensioner?
This is an AA/Rotrax, and I don't see your post...

My bad... we missed one of the mounting bolts so the tensioner came apart instead of coming off.
I didn't have very much time to work on the car today, but here's what got accomplished. Old belt tensioner off, new tensioner on, compressor bracket on and compressor on.
Now I have to find a 8mmx90mm button head bolt to replace the outer power steering pump mounting bolt. Unfortunately, I didn't find the bolt in the box of Tweety parts.

Thankfully, Dean located the stray buttonhead bolt for the power steering pump and that is now in. The belts are all on. The compressor lube oil cooler is hung and the hoses run.
I was working on mounting the lube oil reservoir, but the threaded piece at the bottom of the bracket wasn't secured very well by AA and came undone. I'll have to do something about that.
I also got the intercooler hung this evening and AA has completed remapping my ECU and it is enroute back to me.
Here's a couple updated pictures...

Are you running an engine oil cooler? I'd recommend one, if you're not.
My preference is for the S-54 filter housing and cooler, as fitted to the 01-02 models (the oil cooler connected to the top of the filter, via the cap, just gives me the shivers).
I have not yet added an oil cooler, but I probably will soon.
'Had a good day today! Finished the lube oil system and got most of the intake and intercooler piping run. Ended the day with the MAF Calibrator splice.
Hopefully tomorrow I'm going to talk to a local Machinist/Fabricator to make a fitting to insert the IAT into the aluminum elbow.
Once I get the IAT fitting taken care of and receive my ECU back from AA, I should only have a couple more hours of work to finish it up.

Looks like fun this is on my "maybe one day" lists.
What modifications did you have prior to the install of the supercharger?
Pryor to the current project, I installed a Hartge/Supersprint exhaust, did the Conforti Shark Injection software remap and did an M50 intake manifold swap (which has complicated the SC job slightly). I've also had the Randy Forbes rear end structural reinforcement done.

I should have known. What, didn't like the yellow couplers on your redhead?
Sorry Mark, but the yellow hoses just weren't going to make it on my car

I don't know if you said this or not, but is this a C30 kit or a stage 2 C-38.
Your intercooler looks different than mine (I have a stage 2 C-38 kit)...
I feel your pain though....I was there this time last year....
This thread kinda bums me out. I just want to hear you have sorted it all out, it is running great and you are loving life. Good luck with the remainder of your install.
Now in E92 M3 ZCP -- Absolute beast
My kit is the original C30 intercooled kit. Indeed, your C38 Stage 2 kit has a bigger intercooler to go along with the bigger blower.
Today, I picked up my intake elbow with the custom bung to accept the OBDII IAT sensor as required with the M50 intake manifold. It is truly a thing of beauty!!! There is a nice snug (pressure tight) fit for the OE o-ring and it has an undercut groove to engage the the little spring loaded barb on the body of the IAT. We got it positioned perfectly to clear the compressor inlet elbow that is right next to it and the electrical connector reaches without having to splice in any extra length wire.
This bit of work was done by Mr. Rory West of Pro-Kart in Colchester CT.

Rory has a son the same age as mine, so we've known each other since the kids started school.
In addition to the Go-Kart business, he has a lathe, a couple of Bridgeport milling machines, a CNC milling machine and can weld most anything. I recommend his services if you need something custom fabricated or machined.
No need to be bummed out. I think the project is moving along quite nicely (knocking on my wooden head). The ECU is due to be delivered tomorrow afternoon and then just a little more work to get the air filter installed on the end of the intake pipe and the car will be ready to fire-up. Another hour or 2 to restore the headlight and bumper and it will be road worthy.
Here are a couple of pics of the work of art...

PM me if you need any of those expansion rivets or clips. I bought a slew of those for when you replaced my bumper cover and did not need them. If it helps, I'd be glad to send them for sake of the project without charge.

Officially DONE! And just in time, since my DD stranded me last night.
FedEx finally showed up with the ECU this afternoon. Stuffed it into it's compartment, fired her up and everything looked and sounded good. No OBD codes. Then the bumper went back on and out for a test drive.
The difference from 4,000 and up is very noticeable! It is going to take some concerted effort to prevent multiple speeding tickets (per week)!!!
Thank you Dean & Mark for the great long distance support through the course of the project. And an extra thank you to Diane for quickly shipping a few missing parts while Dean was out of town.

Nice! Now go get it dynoed!
“If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no resource left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual State. In a single State, if the persons intrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair.” – Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 28
bad ass. I feel like it's rare when someone starts one of these up and it works the first time! Congrats! Looks great all stuffed in there too!
Awesome job!! And it looks great!!
Glad to see others taking the time to do there own install, and make things nice and neat!
Any issues with the drivers side headlight? I couldn't tell from the photos but I have a Porsche 803 3.5" HFM, and I had to cut some of the back of the headlight.
Good luck and enjoy!!!
Congrats, looks nice, sure it feels even better.
In the immortal works of Dr. Frankenstein....It's Alive...It's Alive!
Congrats on getting it all sorted out. Hopefully I'll see it out at the Dyno Day this Sunday.
Congratulations! I hope I get a chance to see it sometime this summer.
