I'm in the same boat - I have to get rid of mine too - oh well - they weren't worth a damn anyways....
Micah - I've been trying to call you to place my order - I keep getting your answer machine - are you guys not in today?

Andy & Mike: UPD's have to go because the AA S/C uses different sized belts that won't mate up with the UPD's. Besides, I'm SURE you can suffer the loss of 4 hp for the gain of 110 hp.
Mike: Just ran outta the office to send out 30 Rear Shock Mounts to my customers! I'm gonna give you a call in just a sec.

i'm not clear on what you mean by different sized belts...it can't be width because the UDP belt is the same width as the factory belt. length wise doesn't exactly seem like a real problem to me, all you'd have to do is get a slightly longer belt to fit with the over sized pulleys. unless there is some other issue that is known, i still don't see any real problem here. my point being, the UDPs reduce drag on the motor, and centrifigal blowers add a lot of drag. anywhere that the drag can be reduced is going to up the efficiency of the blower itself. please correct me if i'm wrong.
Andy: You were right, and I was wrong. It doesn't happen often, but I'll certainly admit to it when it does. You CAN run the UUC pulleys with the AA SC. We just need to determine pulley size and fit an appropriate (longer) belt to it. When you order, just remind me that you're using the pulleys and we can match you with the right sized belt.
Mike, I'm going to go ahead and get an appropriately sized belt for you as well.

Cool!!! That's one less thing for me to deal with during installation.
Please be sure the belt size is for the UUC underdrive pulleys.
Thanks Micah - Check goes to FedEx tomorrow during lunch!

He called AA and asked if they would fit. They said no. Who to believe now?
Also, I will be sending you guys a check @ the end of the month. Hopefully 10 people order so I (We) can get a hundred bucks back.

My apologies. It's interesting -- I've actually received conflicting orders from within AA too. Rey says it's fine, you just need a different belt; someone else said it won't work -- not sure who.
In any case, I trust Rey quite a bit (great guy, that one) so if you'd like, I can do a special deal for you on those pulleys since it was my initial misinformation that led to your cancellation of the order. Give us a call if you'd like a set and I'll give you private pricing.

Thanks Micah! But 1st let me see if my buddy can reverse the cancel order instruction tomorrow morning. It may not be too late.
Well...one thing I know for sure is that you do take care of your customers. And I appreciate that!
Will let you know maņana.
Thanks again.

No biggie. Check with your buddy tomorrow -- keep it in the family, so to speak. If he can't do it for you, I will.
And yes, I like to take care of my customers. They are, after all, giving me their money, and I take that very seriously.

Im almost positive this kit will work with shrick cams because I have been looking in to this kit, I have talked to Karl and Ray about it and they know I have Shrick cams because I had my car tunned by them down there.

anyone know if AA has been able to resolve the "black box" issue?
What is the "black box" issue?

how many kits have been sold so far?

I too would like to know the deal about the black box issue.
Second, the UUC Pulley (for example, as well as Rogue) do not underdrive the pulley. The UUC actually lightens the pulley, not changing the size...so in theory its dimensionally the same as the stock size. The Crank and A/C aren't altered either. So the only 2 pulleys to worry about are the Power Steering and Water Pump.
So in theory, these are the 2 pulleys we would need different sized belts for?
Also, how many kits have been sold. I was considering going the RMS Stage 2 route, and then AA Software for it. I'm in love with AA's kit, just not sure If I want to get a kit that just has no upgradability to it.
Besides, I deff want an intercooler...cause, well I've been taken for a ride in a Stage 1 with a Stage 2 intercooler and larger injectors (essentially a stage 2) and a purge shot of Nitrous. It screamed w/o the Nitrous, and was down in the low 12s (12.2-12.4) and with the Nitrous it was in the 11s.
Now a proper Stage 2 RMS kit, with AA Tuning to get the software perfect...w/o the Nitrous would be perfect. But the AA Kit is probably be much more affordable at the end...
Decisions...DEcisions.

The black box issue was a problem with the HFM that's been resolved with this version of the kit. It's no longer an issue.
Once again, a new answer has risen regarding pulleys and the ability to use them with this kit. KEEP READING.
carcrazed: You're correct to an extent. The entire means by which an underdrive pulley works is an increased pulley diameter and to some degree lightening of the pulley.
Specifically, the UUC pulley changes the diameter of the of the power steering pulley and water pump pulley, but not the alternator pulley (its weight is simply reduced).
That said, you can't use the UUC pulleys with the AA S/C. Even though the S/C is crank driven, the different belt length(s) required by the UUC pulleys increases the operating RPM's of the AA S/C at any given engine speed. As such, the AA S/C will spin beyond it's maximum warrantyable speed, causing several issues:
1. Your S/C's warranty will be void.
2. Your S/C will likely fail, if not right a way, much sooner than a normal lifespan.
3. Your engine will be damaged since the AA software doesn't account for the additional boost produced by the S/C in these conditions. It's likely you could kill it altogether.
In short, the UUC pulleys ARE NOT a good idea with the AA S/C. They'd be fine IF AA used a different S/C capable of the higher RPM's and accounted for the extra boost with software, but they do not.
In any case, there's not a significant amount of power to be gained with the pulleys. I guess you guys will just have to save the $185 and "suffer" with 5-9whp less.

you guys may have noticed my departure from the sc convo...
...that's because i rear-ended this dumb and now must buy a front bumper and other BS...no where near as fun as forced induction purchases, let me tell you...
but anywho, i'm poking my head back in to offer to buy somebody's used pulley set once they go with FI. i'm not sure of my alternator brand, so i'd have to check to make sure your set would fit my car, but let me know guys!
also, if you m3motorwerks.com guys want to offer me a deal on some front plastic, let me know
(only half kidding)
later, and i'm jealous of you all that end up with this kit...
Sorry to hear about your car . As for as the front plastic goes we don't really stock any of stock stuff, but i can look around and see what I can come up with. Email me the list of parts you need.Originally posted by timmay!

Man those M3Motorwerks guys are great!! :
yes, yes they are!
i probably wasn't going to go stock...
i need a bumper, all of the bumper accessories, like foglights and mesh...
and the metal body piece that goes around the grill up to the hood and under the headlights.
here's a pic of my car's black eye (kinda dark, sorry):
thanks guys, you're off the hook.
Tim, I BELIEVE you meant "off the heezy for sheezy my neezy." I mean, really, "off the hook" is just so passe. GET WITH THE TIMES, MAN!
On a more serious note, honestly, I'd be remiss to sell you the OEM parts you need. My price on that stuff is honestly only mediocre (for the time being -- soon we make have access to smoking hot pricing), so your best bet is still www.pacificbmw.com for OEM replacement parts.
But you need aftermarket, we got aftermarket. You need Rolex, I got Rolex, I got Bulgari, I got Cartier, I got...I, uh, mean, uh....
Crap. I knew I'd slip at some point. Just don't tell nobody, alright?

what kind of gains will we see with a AA Track Pipe along with the supercharger?
ACS | AA | Conforti | UUC | JTD | Ro_JA | Pirelli | ZKW | DDEL+ | FK | Viper | Philips | Xtec | Rieger | Hartge | RE
Sorry, it took so long for me to reply. It all depends on what car you are putting the SC and track pipe on. The track pipe with a SC will give about 15-20 more HP, so add that to what the SC gives .
