Unless you have anything to say regarding the formatting issues I voiced, please stop the unrelated bashing. I wasn't and had no intention to bash their work, so please stay on topic. I voiced my opinion on the said topic, and if you disagree please try to be constructive.

The arrogant attitude, negative comments towards members, and not even showing any of your work have really helped us all here. Thanks for posting today.

Petrucci and FMinus are well respected all over, I really don't think they need to be great authors!
Oh that's nice, because you did a search, so I have no reason to voice my opinion because you can't find me?
If you want me to take back my critiques and observations, it's not going to happen. I never resorted to such blatant attacks.

I know both of them are excellent, as I've spoken with FMINUS many times, and very much enjoy his work. I don't need to prove this to you, as I never personally attacked or even remotely implied they did bad work. I was referring to formatting.
Personally, I can live with posts such as that, as I have on autopia and detailers club for a long time, but considering the original post, I had to voice my opinion on the topic.

[Seriously] No offense intended, just stating the first thought that came to my mind. It's like someone's telling me how to make my posts and what I can and cannot do/say/post.
I'm very much on topic, and felt your response was unjustified.
I thoughtfully critiqued the topic at hand, it doesn't sound like I'm the one doing the crying.

I felt I made some very valid points, and this was the situation to explain those in detail. I really would appreciate if you wouldn't tell me to leave the board because of it.

One of my favorite authors is Todd, his threads are amazing.

I agree outright, and totally understand. Even on Autopia I feel that people sometimes skip over the important things. I guess it's a big compromise. Excellent work by the way, great photos as well.

I have no problem with this. I feel the detailing section should be available to all detailers and each thread should include as many pictures as possible to show the beauty that is perfected only by correct detailing. As long as product list is included, IMO no explanation is necessary, most of us who graze these portions of the forum can fill in the blanks as to the steps. If this happens to advertise their business, then I don't think that's a problem either, the more people that get their cars detailed by anyone qualified to do so, the better! I hate seeing so many nice cars destroyed by improper wash techniques or not washed at all! I don't think we should regulate these threads.

Thank you I really enjoy your work too, wish you would post them up too.

I'm assuming the OP is talking about someone that does a BMW then starts postings all different vehicles from there after and what not, just a guess.

I understand that many detailers post their work and many specialize in BMW's. Many of us also have other vehicles that are not BMW's and detail other vehicles as well. I like seeing different cars, makes and models because all of them need different processes or techniques to be detailed. It helps us all to see them all.

I see both sides of the story... I post sometimes when I really like the car, but the rest of the pics/process simply go on my website... I tend to side with the OP simply because I do like to see a detailing forum filled with "dumb" questions for people to learn from, rather than countless detail threads, BUT I think the best solution is to create a sub-forum simply called "show off your work" or something like that, where these countless threads will be welcomed by the many people who simply love looking at the pics (myself included)...

I'm not sure if the OPs reason for posting this is the same as mine, but I stopped posting on 6speedonline due to the fact that the countless detail threads (again, not that they're bad, just many) pushed the members' questions to page 2, 3...

So yea, just another opinion here, but I think best thing would be to have a show off section for all the pic threads and a 'general' section where people can post questions, comments, product reviews, etc.

now is it just me or isnt that basically advertising your business? i have my own business and i post on bfc daily, but i dont post every car i detail with my business name in the title, and only come to BFC to advertise.

idk maybe its just me but that stuff is starting to piss me off.

do you not remember when umnitza basically ran this forum (still might, its been a while), please look at habbie and umnitza members before claiming the good work done by this forums members is bullshit advertising and TROLLING

TROLLING?! ARE YOU KIDDING?!

they are in the car detailing section posting the great work that they do, just because you cant post the same things, detailing the same cars, and doing as good if not better work then them, does not make them trolls

i actually enjoy when it says 'username: car' right in the title, i will click any thread that says petrucci, and i probably wont click any thread that says presidential detailed

if you dont like the small group of members that actually post the work they do, then this subforum is not for you!

I think that this is a case of a select few people swearing and flaming people who have posted legitimate, well-written concerns. The vast majority of users are friendly and responsible in their posts.

This is stupid. If it pisses you off, avoid the thread. It's nice to see people's work actually.

Showing pictures of what they have done is great advertisment. I would kill for FMINUS to detail my car after seeing his work.

I really dont think that they are advertising.....This isnt a regional forum, the farthest car for me that ive ever detailed is within an hour drive of my house, what are the odds that someone is just cruising the boards that close to me that decides due to my post that they want their car detailed?

the more content in the forum, the better.

I understand the OP's point but I must say that it is very insignificant in scope. These threads dont come every day, barely a few each week really and I cant see how this would affect anyone.

What is the problem with them advertising? They arent being blatant about it, just showing their work. If you have work to show, then post it.
