2009 BMW 335i coupe shadowline trim

New 335i coupe will be here 10 Nov. I didn't know the 2009 coupes have shadowline trim instead of chrome around the window. Does anyone want to trade 2008 chrome for 2009 shadowline trim? Please contact me.

What color is the new car? That shadowline may look really cool. I'm tempted to take you up on the offer...

Take some pics when you get it, I think Black trim on a Black car could look quite good

You know, my 2008 335i E92 does not have chrome trim around the windows. Its brushed /dull stainless, same as the exhaust tips. Is this trim shiny chrome on 07 E92s?

Nope, same as yours. Not shiny sort of brushed aluminum.

The 2009 335i coupe only comes with shadowline trim if you order the sport package.

I just ordered one yesterday. Although I like the chrome trim against black paint, the black/black still looks good in the photos.

Go the the BMW website and build a 2009 and you'll see what I mean.

Haven't recieved my ordered 09 space grey 335i sedan yet but the sedan comes with the shadow trim as well when ordered with the sports pkg. Kind of a reversal from my 2007 when only the 335i came with chrome. I personnaly like the chrome better but I will post pics when she arrives in about 3 weeks and you can tell me your thoughts.

Changing trims IS NOT a swap out kind of deal...you ordered you stuck. Unless it's different than other cars it's a hard job to do, and I think once it comes off it's bent.

I don't blame you, I saw a few at the dealer with the shadowline. I don't care for it.

I have that same combination (E90, Space Gray, ZSP, though as a 328i) and prefer the look of the shadowline trim. The aluminum trim I saw on a 2008 coupe in Space Gray looked okay, but I'm glad they added the shadowline to the '09 ZSP, as it has more contrast with the medium-gray tone of the car.

    :(
Guinness bought the "sticker kit" - a.k.a. - vinyl kit to do my window trim, and we worked for a while on one of the window pieces, and I didn't like the look at all... He did manage to get it off and back on without bending or damaging it, so a swap can be done.

Perhaps Santa will bring me some black trim this year for my windows since the grill is black, blackline tail lights, and tinted windows... Can't wait for all of the chrome pieces to be blacked out!

That's great to hear about the space gray/shadowline trim because I was a little apprehensive. I get my new baby in 3 weeks! I am Sooooooo stoked.

I don't get why people put $4 stickers over brushed aluminum. I can understand wanting all blacked out from the factory, but covering it with sticker is something Civic ricers dont' even do.

Actually it was a $65 pre-cut vinyl kit sold by a supporting vendor here and e90post...

And there are also numerous posts about how you can remove the trim without bending it. The only thing that may not be able to be reused is the setting that the chrome trim sits in, 06 - 08, but the matte black trim does not have that. 09 and up, don't know... haven't seen it. If JLevi is coming out with another vinyl solution, no thanks... been there done that. I'll keep searching for someone to swap with.

I know what it cost, I'm talking the material cost. You can order the parts if you're that dead set on changing it. But what I learned from trying to swap parts on car is that one of the parts always gets broken or bent. I had my Z and I was trying to swap a few things and it just wasn't worth it.

Yeah, I don't like to think about material costs. It makes me sad to know how bad I'm getting raped. I get what you're saying about ordering the parts too. But it's always worth trying other options before dropping 3 - 400 on trim, and I think the shadowline is a lot more than the matte black.

The aluminum/chrome/whatever the hell it is....material cost is $1127.08 plus labor. My 335 arrives next week and I will change it out at the dealership. If anyone wants to buy the shadowline trim let me know. I will have it and it will be taken off by a certified BMW tech so it shouldn't be bent! It sucks that it will cost so much but I think it looks better.
