    ughhh, 10's for a change.

well, after a disapointing track day last time, i went out tonight on a cool brisk night with my 3.15lsd. After a couple runs i was finaly able to muster up some 10's.

The good of tonight: i learned that a john force 3rd gear burnout is a must to get my slicks hot enough to stick. I also learned that 15.5psi is good for traction with my setup.

The bad: My tranny is shot. I didnt get to try out my newly learned launching techniques due to being locked outta 2nd gear. I managed a 1.6 60ft but my tranny wouldnt let me shift so i had to coast the rest of the 60ft. After a couple tries, i noticed some horrible noises coming from my transmission. Sounds like my transmission is a supercharger. Loud whining that gets higher pitch with higher rpms, and all sorts of clunking around in idle.lol

So, i guess this leaves me something to look forward to for next year. I personaly feel the 3.15lsd works good for me becuase it removes 1 shift and apparently increased my mph all while keeping my steller 1.8's 60fts.lol

1 run in 10's and 1 to back it up. Now all i need is a new tranny, or possibly rebuild mine. But, i have a baby on the way and tracks are only open for another couple weeks so im done for the year.

I got some real good close up video i will try to get up this weekend.

Cliffs: ran 10's without anti lag. Tried anti lag and tranny is now poop.

Great work! You definitely deserved those 10s. That trap is huge!

Motor built or stock? Care to share the quick run down of it and boost level?

heres one of the vids as promised. As you can see the 2nd gear burnout doesnt get the hoosiers nearly hot enough. Not like it mattered. My tranny was screwed up already at that point and too much launch/traction would not allow me to shift into 2nd. Sooo, a baby launch without anti lag and i landed my 10sec pass.

this was me experimenting with a 3rd gear burnout and 15.5psi in tires. Worked out great as you can see i was actually able to launch however the tranny wouldnt let me shift into 2nd. This was a 1.6 60ft without even shifting into 2nd. This was an instant boner kill.

sourced another tranny. should be here wednesday. Maybe ill try to sneak out one last time. anyone recommend a good tranny fluid? i feel one of the reasons my last tranny failed was because i never checked/changed the fluid since i owned it. : Live and learn i guess.

werd, if your gunna be runnin the mickeys for the track they do not need a huge burnout like the hoosiers. just a quick 2nd gear burn.

Great numbers jfdmas! I have a quick question thou,How do you do your burnouts? Iam only asking cause iam not that familiar with doing so on rwd cars. I was thinking of going with a line lock from summit racing, but u make it look so easy. Any suggestions?

line locks are nice, however i usualy do a 2nd gear burnout. Ill do a quick little spin in 1st gear to get the tires wet. Then ill put it into 2nd gear and pop the clutch at around 5-6000rpm. imediatly after i put my foot on the brake while feathering the gas on and off to get the tires hot and then ride it out till i feel the tires grab.

however i found out that i wasnt getting my slicks hot enough with only a 2nd gear burnout so i switched to 3rd gear burnout and it hooks better.
