So this was a 5.8? Remember when they claimed the 1994 quake was only a 6.6 magnitude to limit the amount of money they would have to pay out for all those looking for disaster relief. Several other countries recorded the 94 quake well above an 8 magnitude.

Strong earthquake hits region
The Daily News
Article Last Updated: 07/29/2008 11:55:36 AM PDT

An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale originating from Chino Hills hit the region at 11:42 a.m., according to city officials. The tremors lasted 30 seconds.
No major injuries or damage has been reported so far in the city of Los Angeles.
Tremors were felt as Chuck Norris woke up.

For some reason I read this with Chuck Norris at the bottom.

To the Cloverfield comment.. that earthquake would have been way more badass if there were monsters roaming socal.

If she's dead: Good time to upgrade?

If she's alive: Rough passionate disaster sex.

It's a logarithmic scale, so each number on the richter scale is 10x stronger than the one before it. That means that Northridge was 10x stronger than this one, and the 9.7 that hit Indonesia in 2005 was 40 times stronger.

T-mobile and Verizon aren't working for me.

Edit, they are both working off/on.

LOL AT KTLA NEWS.

Anchor: We have Bertha live from Sun Valley.

Bertha: I felt the Quake!

Anchor: Tell us about your experience.

Bertha: I felt everything rumbling and shaking! I was worried about my husbands expensive liqueurs in our cabinet.
