8 Series (E31) (1991 - 1997) As the last E24 rolled off the production line in 1989, its replacement was quick on its heels to fulfill the fantasies of those looking for a touring coupe with all of the luxury, performance, and prestige of a BMW, only now with both 8 and 12 cylinder engines.

Question 840 or 850?

Thinking of trading '97 M3 for an 8 series. Which year and model would you suggest? I would get a CSi but still asking too much for them. Looking for something in the $30-35K range. And I am looking for the better performing 8 series other than the CSi. Any help?

Modifications?

Depsite what many will say, I am of the opinion that it will be easier to make an 840Ci faster then an 850i/Ci than it is to keep up with the 50's maintenance.

A number of companies already make bolt-on supercharger kits for the 40's engine.

Hey Justin, have you seen the "BMW 8 Series Worldwide Owner's Group" website on our Links page? If not, you should take a look. It's on the Internet and Email Group page of the Links.
