Headlight lense renewal

I had a broken housing on my passenger side headlight, so my friend hooked me up with his headlight off his 95 M after getting HIDs. Since it had 50k more miles, the lense looked the part and didnt match the original on my car, and was just ugly and yellow period. So with nothing to do me and my homie got to work:
Tools of the trade:

*No before pics sorry*
We started with a wetsand of 400 grit on the bad light, and just "heavy duty" rubbing compound on the other for an updated look. After the 400 we moved up to 1500 wetsand.
Bad light:

Good Light:

Moving from that point we used the rubbing compound on the sanded light, all the while still using it on the other at the same time.
Bad:

Good:

After about 10-15 minutes of elbow greese (2 people doing 2 lights simoltaneously) we got to the point where the compound couldnt do much more. Here we followed with "polishing compound" which was much more mild than the rubbing compound. A few coats of this and we moved to standard polish to finish.

Final Product:

They didnt come out perfect or astonishing, but now they match and are clearer with less defined pitting. w00t!

Ya thanks all. I installed them and the light spread (atleast for stockers) is much better. With an electric buffer im confident these would come out as good as new, but we only had man power... still cheaper than buying new ones!
