After numerous requests from forum members over the past few months, we are now hosting a Group Buy for the EC-7 wheels! We wanted to support a larger part of the BMW community so there are fitments for the E36, E36 M3, E46, E46 M3, Z4, Z3, E8X, E82 1M, E9X, and E9X M3.
The Group Buy will be listed on multiple forums where we will be monitoring and updating all Group Buy threads: M3Forums, Bimmerforums, E46Fanatics, 1Addicts, e90post, M3post, and Zpost. Spread the word, because the more members that sign up, the lower the price will be for everyone!

- Free Shipping is available to members in the 48 mainland US states. Alaska, Hawaii, and International members will receive a $75 credit off the actual cost of shipping.
- Non-mainland/international members: please contact us prior to ordering for a shipping quote. We'll either send you an invoice, or a code to adjust your order.
- Free shipping and this discounted price are for this product only and does not cover extras added to the cart such as spacers, lugs, center caps or other store products unless those produces also offer free shipping. Adding others parts may result in a shipping fee.
- Due to package sizes, the cart may calculate an unreasonable shipping rate for add on items. If this occurs, contact us prior to checkout, and we will adjust your extra item shipping costs if there is an issue.
- Non Group Buy parts will ship with your wheel order unless requested in the comment field at checkout.
Local Pickup Discount:
- Local customers who pick up their set will receive a $35 discount on their order in lieu of free shipping. Local pickup discounts are provided at time of pickup as a refund, and are not provided in advance. You MUST write "local pickup" in the comment field at checkout so that we do not ship your order. We will call you when your set is ready to schedule a pickup from our Livermore 94550 warehouse.
When do these ship?:
ETA update as of 3/15:
After conducting an initial tally of orders, we’ve determined that most orders are still fulfillable from our in-stock inventory, but due to higher than normal demand for very specific finishes, some orders will be fulfilled when we receive our next two shipments. We’ve updated the original post. See below for details on which sizes and finishes may be affected.
- Most wheels are in stock, and orders will begin shipping within a week of the group buy close date. We expect to fulfill 75%~ of orders from our in-stock inventory.
- Due to high demand for select sizes, some orders will be fulfilled after we receive our next stocking shipments, scheduled to arrive approx 30 days and 60 days after the close date.
- Some of the orders for the following sizes/finishes may be affected:
- 18x10" ET25 Satin Black - 30 days~
- 18x9.5" ET35 in Race Silver and Anthracite - 60 days~
- 18x9" ET31 in Race Silver and Anthracite - 60 days~
- This is a Group Buy. Wheels do not ship the day after making payment like a traditional order.
- 80% of order should ship out a week after the group buy closes. Some will ship immediately. Shipment time is based on availability, and cannot be exactly calculated in advance since wheels are scheduled to arrive at our facility in three shipments throughout March.
- Customs/Port delays can add an extra 1 week delay, but it's rare.
- We cannot guarantee an exact ETA date. Our estimates have historically been conservative and within +/- two weeks of our ETA date.
- We will keep everyone up to date of even minor changes if they occur via this thread.
- All customer orders will ship out as they become available, after the close date.
- Tracking numbers will be provided to all buyers, and important progress updates will be posted on this forum, and on corresponding product pages.
Finish Availability
- Finish availability will be offered on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Due to high demand on the feeler list, some finishes will sell out.
- You have multiple options for selecting how we should process your order if your preferred finish happened to sell out.
- Select your preferred finish plus a secondary back-up finish. If your first finish is not available we will automatically switch your order to the second finish to complete your order. At the time of shipping you will be notified which finish has been shipped.
- Select your preferred finish, and do not select a secondary finish. "No alternative choice". By selecting this option you are asking us to cancel and fully refund your order automatically if your preferred finish is not available. Group Buy pricing is only available for in stock inventory. Pricing will not be honored for back-orders, or for future stock.
- Select "size change" if paint finish is a priority, and you would rather see what other sizes are available, select this option and we will contact you to discuss alternative sizes that would work for your fitment. There is no guarantee we will have all other sizes available. You may cancel your order if we do not have a good substitute size available.
- We will try to stay up to date with sold out finishes/sizes by posting them here and on the forums.
How do I join? Payments and Sign-up info
- This Group Buy is currently in the “feeler” phase. During this period members simply need to post their requested sizes/finish. We will add you to our master list and combine that across all the forums. No payment is necessary until the Payment phase begins on March 18th. You are not obligated to pay after adding your name to the list.
- During the payment phase, a link will be posted to a checkout page on our site. Domestic buyers should use our site to complete payment. International buyers should contact us for an invoice and PayPal or wire transfer details.
- The last day to join and make payment is March 26th. No orders can be placed after this date.
- Buyers are not officially part of the Group Buy until they've paid on our website's Group Buy page or contacted us to make payment.
- Credit cards will be authorized only for the price listed at sign-up. Cards will be charge the final price after the close of the Group Buy and the member count is totaled. This automatically insures that everyone is billed for the highest discount reached, regardless of when they joined
- PayPal accounts will be charged the amount due at sign-up due to a lack of authorization feature. If additional discount levels are reached, then PayPal paying members will receive partial discounts to make up for the difference.
- The Group Buy page will contain a list of members as they join. It is updated as they sign up within 24 hours and does not accurately represent the exact number of members at any given time.
- If Aftermarket Performance Express Corp. elects to cancel the group buy due to low order volume or a production issue, ALL customers will be provided full refunds if their payment was already processed.
Discount Tiers
- The price you pay at sign up is based on how many members are on the feeler list.
- At the close of the Group Buy, everyone's order/payment will be adjusted up or down to the final discount tier reached. In almost all cases, we end reaching higher tier levels, which results in all or most paying members to receive additional discounts.
- In the end, everyone pays the same price.
- There is zero advantage in signing up at the last minute, yet most members still wait till the last 2~ days.
- Early sign-ups promote others to sign-up, and gives confidence to the stragglers. If you know you’re buying then pay early to keep the momentum going.
Refunds
- There are NO refunds on Group Buy orders. Group Buys are special order, which is why payment is taken in advance
- Only replacement of defective, or mis-shipped products are available.
- Members cannot change colors or sizes after item receipt for Group Buy orders.
- These products are priced at promotional pricing and do not carry that same return policy as our retail priced items. If you would like a traditional 30 Day return policy then we recommend purchasing at the retail price, and not via the Group Buy.

Manufacturing process:
All APEX wheels are flow-formed resulting in a light weight, track and street worthy wheel. Flow-forming significantly reduces weight in the barrel by rolling the barrel out into it's final shape using large wheels/disks applying high pressure. This step is the same step that monoblock forged wheels go through to shape their barrels. By doing this, the flow-formed wheel's barrel has the same density and strength as the barrel of a fully forged wheel. This significantly reduces rotational mass at the furthest point from the center, which is the most important weight savings area on a wheel.
Strength:
These wheels are fully JWL/VIA certified. Strength testing was done by the VIA in Japan.
Misc.
- Comes with carbon-look APEX center caps.
- Accepts OEM Roundel center caps.
- Does not come with valve stems.
- Installs using your factory lugs or a stud conversion.
- BMW hub-centric - no centering rings
- Accepts all wheel spacers including 5mm while still remaining hub-centric.
- TPMS compatible.

Absolutely, depending on the rear tire that you are planning on using you could use either our 18x10" ET25, 18x10.5" ET27, or 18x11" ET25 rear wheel on your car but the 18x11" ET25 would really provide the most ideal rear wheel fitment from an aesthetic standpoint.
In the front a direct fitment would be to use our 18x8.5" ET35 wheel with a 235/40/18 or 245/35/18 tire. It is also possible to use our 18x9" ET31, 18x9" ET42, or 18x9.5" ET35 front wheel on your car with wider tires if you have additional negative camber or have adjustable camber plates.
Generally for our E36 customers with over fenders or a widebody kit installed on their cars and looking to use a wider square set up we recommend using the 18x9.5" ET22 or 18x10" ET25 wheel. A 10" wide wheel would be preferred in providing enough wheel width to support a 285 width tire.

A great direct fitment for your car is our 18x8.5" ET35 wheel with either a 235/40/18 or 245/35/18 tire. It is also possible to use the 18x9" ET42 wheel all around on your car with the 245/35/18 tire for a more filled in and flush look. We could also set you up with a staggered fitment using the 18x8.5" ET35 or 18x9" ET42 up front and the 18x9.5" ET43 in the rear with a 255/35/18 tire.
The profile 3 wheel sizes would not be able to be used on an E36 M3 unless you have widebody fender modifications. If you were looking for a staggered concave set up that has no risk of rubbing we would unfortunately have to use undersized tires. You could use an 18x9" ET31 wheel in the front and the 18x9.5" ET43 wheel in the rear which would both give the profile 2 wheel concavity and look great. This is the same exact set up as the violet E36 M3 at the top of this thread and below.

If you are looking to do a square 18x9" set up on your E36 with as little to no fender rolling as you can than I would only be able to recommend using the 18x9" ET42 Profile 1 concavity EC-7. Most people who go with this set up will use a 255/35/18 tire all of the way around with fender rolling required in the rear, a 12mm wheel spacer required in the front and also additional negative camber required up front. An easier fitment would be to use a 245/35/18 tire on this set up which would require much less to almost no fender rolling in the rear.
The only other possible square 18x9" set up we have would be to use the 18x9" ET31 Profile 2 wheel which is very aggressive on the E36 body. It requires fender rolling and undersized tires to be used with significant sidewall stretch which we do not recommend.

what square set-ups will work on the Z3 m coupe without modifying the body? I am wanting more width than stock but the option to rotate front to back. I love profile 2 and 3

The 18x9" ET31 or 18x9.5" ET35 would work really well for your Z3M in a square set up. Both of these wheels are getting on the more aggressive side for the front of the car but can be made to fit. Because there is such a large difference in fitment between the front and rear of your car it becomes more difficult to obtain a good square set up. Do you have adjustable camber plates installed in the car? If so you have the ability to fit a 255/35/18 tire on the 18x9" ET31 or 18x9.5" ET35 wheel. A 265/35/18 tire could also be used on these but you will need to use an extreme amount of negative camber up front to fit that wider tire. A rear wheel spacer of about 20mm would also be preferred with either of these wheels for aesthetic purposes.

ETA update as of 3/15:
After conducting an initial tally of orders, we’ve determined that most orders are still fulfillable from our in-stock inventory, but due to higher than normal demand for very specific finishes, some orders will be fulfilled when we receive our next two shipments. We’ve updated the original post. See below for details on which sizes and finishes may be affected.
- Most wheels are in stock, and orders will begin shipping within a week of the group buy close date. We expect to fulfill 75%~ of orders from our in-stock inventory.

Anyone running squared 18 x 95" et 35 on an e36 coupe? How hard are these to fit on stock fenders (no flares) Should I go with a more conservative ET43? I don't mind heavy fender roll and a bit of a pull but don't want flares or bodywork.

If you are looking for a square 18x9.5" set up for an E36 M3 the 18x9.5" ET43 is the better wheel for that fitment. You would need a 15mm wheel spacer up front for strut clearances and the ability to obtain more negative camber up front and at least -2.75 degrees of camber to fit a 255/35/18 tire. In the rear you would absolutely need fender rolling and at most a slight fender pull but nothing more.

Is that for the ET43 fitment? Or the ET35? I thought ET 43 should fit easily without spacers or massive neg camber
