Hey Eddy, any chance you can include the ARC-8 17x9 et30? I would be IN for one set.

    Four 17x10.5, et27, Hyper Black.

I've never done a group buy before, so please post all important details in this thread and I'll be sure to follow instructions (if they change from the original post, that is.)

APEX will be doing 3 rounds of Group Buys this winter. The 17x8.5" ET40 and 17x9" ET42 wheels will be included in our Round 2 group buy later this winter. That will most likely occur in the middle of January.

Hyper Silver provides a great contrast against black cars but Hyper Black can provide a slightly more aggressive and darker look and has many shades in different lighting.

We are only able to offer wheels in the group buy that we are be able to fulfill orders for, which is why the 17x9" ET30 wheels are not included in this Round 1 Group Buy. There is a possibility that they will be included in Round 2 later in January.

I'd like to add to this question with my own. Is anyone actually tracking their E36 M3 with the 17x9.5s at a track ready ride height and without absolutely mutillating their fenders?

Most of the pics with this size that I've seen posted in various threads show street cars hard parking.

I'm looking for first hand track or autocross specific feedback.

    Thanks,

    Chris G.

Since this is already one of the most aggressive wheel fitments we offer for the E36 we recommend using the smallest wheel spacer possible to minimize any potential risks of further rubbing. That would be a 5mm wheel spacer. As long as you have camber plates in the front we don't foresee any major rubbing issues with the 17x9.5" ET35 and a 5 wheel spacer. We would not suggest using a 10mm wheel spacer in the rear because this is already a very aggressive wheel fitment for the E36. There is always the possibility of rubbing the fender liner at full steering lock but the benefit of extra width, extra grip out of potentially a 255/40/17 tire, and the concave looks outweigh any slight rubbing you may experience at full steering lock in a parking situation.

As far as wheel and tire clearances go the 17x9.5" ET35 is actually a much better fitment in the rear than our 17x9" ET30. Yes, the 17x9.5" ET35 does extend 1mm further out than the 17x9" ET30 but the 17x9.5" ET35 also moves the tire in 11mm towards the inside of the car away from the fender making it a much easier fitment in the rear than the 17x9" ET30. Now to give another comparison of how much more aggressive this wheel is the 17x9" ET42 is 13mm more conservative at the fender than the 17x9.5" ET35. With a fender roll I would not hesitate using the 17x9.5" ET35 and a 245/40/17 tire in any track/auto x situation. Once the step is made to a 255/40/17 size tire then more fender work starts to come into play with fender pulling becoming a requirement.
