Hello to all of my M3 pals!
First off, I am not selling my car, or planning to sell my car. This is purely for the sake of curiosity! I wanted to give y'all the run down on my car and see what y'all figured it was worth. I know I got a great deal on it but am curious to see what other enthusiasts would pay for it. Anyway, here are some specs on the car. I realize its a lot of details but it all helps to get a good idea of the car. Thanks for your opinions and insights!

Sounds the usual well kept $10K M3. You might be able to squeeze a little more if a PPI came back with nothing and you were willing to sit on the car a bit.
Most of the stuff you listed in the middle (chrome, manuals/stickers etc) doesn't make a difference. It's a e36 M3, not a parts matching 69 mustang. The most important factors in getting a lot for your M3: Mileage, Maintenance, and Manual!
$1,000,000
Sorry, what's the point?
2005 M3 Carbon Black
1997 M3 Arctic Silver (sold)
1991 318is Diamond Schwartz (sold)
2003 330i (sold)
1990 M3 Brilliant Red (sold)
Without you listing the maintenance records nor physical condition of the car, I would low ball you ($6-8k). I don't know the pricing on convertibles nor do I care. What it comes down to is how much it'll cost to get it up-to-date with maintenance and preventitive maintenance. Also, condition of interior and exterior play a great role in pricing. All your listed options could be a plus to someone but I personally don't care for them (not your specific options, but extra stuff in general). Pics would help put a better price on it. There will always be the next guy to pay more than what I would with depper pockets.
Ummm.......just like I said, CURIOSITY!
Body and interior are all immaculate. All maintenance done and car needs absolutely nothing. Like I said, this is purely for curiosities sake and nothing more. Curious to know how much I paid versus what an enthusiast would pay I guess.......

So, yeah, you have a clean M3 vert. I guess you would theoretically get the high end of the resale scale if you were to theoretically sell your car. Does that answer your question?
But again, I'm curious about lots of things in the world but what's the point if you are not actually going to sell your car. This post comes off like you are showing off your ride, which is fine I suppose. I'd rather you tell us flatout that you are showing off versus having us all play pin the tail on the donkey guessing game about the value of your car.

I guess I'll play along and assume everything is as immaculate as you say it is. I would try to pay as close to $12k as possible. I bet that car was listed at $14k when you bought it.
Thanks! I actually paid $6,500 from an actual BMW Dealership. I have no idea why they asked so little for such a beautiful car. I can only guess that it was mis-priced or something.
As for showing off my car......nope. If that was my intent, I would have started a 'check out my car' thread. Besides, I already did that back when I first bought it. No hidden agendas here, just a very, very simple question. No reason to look for secret motives or to be negative.

That's odd. Clean carfax? Is it even a real M3? Definitely a steal if all is true.
Yeah, without a PPI and going by what you listed, I'd say about $10K, maybe $10.5K. Now if you had a refreshed cooling system, belt drive, a majority of the bushings replaced, new control arms, and tie rods, then I'd say easily $11.5 or even $12K to the right buyer.
Couple of items. Lose the "crystal" tailights and get the OEM euro white signal tail lamps. Also, I don't think chrome wheels were ever offered from the factory. I think dealers just sent the wheels out and had 'em dipped.
I have to test drive it to give you an honest opinion on the price
worth nothing with the chrome wheels

It came with a PPI. The cooling system was indeed done. As for the belt drive, bushings, control arms, and tie rods....I don't know if any of that was done or not. I installed the tails myself, the car looked 100% stock when I got it. I realize that they are not everyones cup of tea but I do think they give the car a slightly more modern appearance. I did keep every-single original item I took off, in case I ever wanted to go back to stock. As for the wheels, they are on my window sticker. They say "Individual, High Shine Effect Wheels". They are listed as a $950 option.
LOL. Hey, we're both Bay Area......I'm always down to meet fellow E36 owners! I actually just moved from Santa Cruz to Los Gatos two months ago!

I think you'll find them to be part of a limited and relatively unsuccessful "Pimp Package" offered by BMW.
Current:
98 M3/4/5 Alpine/Magma
05 MazdaSpeed Miata
Sold:
00 Honda VFR
99 528iT M/T
98 M3/4/5 Arctic/Dove
94 R-package Miata
89 Honda NT650

Here is the full list of option codes from 2001. There is no mention of "Individual, High Shine Effect Wheels".
Dunno what to tell ya, it's on the window sticker.

Oops....I stand absolutely corrected! I pulled out my window sticker to scan and post it on here and that option was not listed! I looked at my other cars window stickers and the "Individual, High Shine Effect Wheels" are on my Porsche's Window Sticker. Sorry for mixing those up and looking like a twit.....feel'n kinda dumb at the moment!
