I have been having this problem lately where there is a clicking noise whenever the clutch is pressed in my 540i 6 speed. its weird its not there all the time it goes a way sometime then it comes back....you hear a clicking noise when the clutch is pressed in and goes away when its depressed....what could that be? i dont think its throw out bearing because its not a grinding noise and its not there all the time also only happens when the clutch is pressed in..
i need a new tranny mounts asap.
could it be air in the system?
throw out bearing.
there's a bad spot on the race and/or a ball in the bearing. when you depress the clutch, you load the bearing and that noise resonates through the metal components and becomes audible.
its not when depressed, its when pressed in....
Depressed is being pressed haha.. when i went through auto classes they taut me many things i never new.
yea i have the same problem.
VERY common.
Nothing to worry about... Just very annoying.
Unless you want to replace the whole clutch assembly...
NEVER argue with an idiot, as he will make you stoop to his level of idiocy.
Is the click coming from under the dash or under the car?
Easy job to replace the throw out bearing. Simply cut the transmission in half, throw the old one and install the new one, and then super glue the transmission back together. Easy peasy!
